Sarah Palin Meets a Foreign Leader - woo hoo!

Main Stream's picture

Sarah Palin was against news coverage of her meeting with foreign leaders, before she was FOR it? Confusing.

CNN/AP is reporting that the media was covering Palin's meeting with Afghan President Hamid Karzai when she asked him what his son's name is and "Karzai replied his name was Mirwais and explained that it means light of the house.

The media were escorted out after about 40 seconds."

What the heck??! Escorted OUT after 40 seconds of coverage? Did her campaign staff think she would stumble if she explained to Karzai the meanings behind her own kids' names, Slipknot and Moosehump?

WASHINGTON, DC — Another case of Joe being Joe.

The Delaware Senator took issue with an attack ad from his own side in an interview with CBS, telling Katie Couric that the Obama hit on McCain’s ignorance of computers and technology was “terrible.” The ad paints McCain as out of touch — and all but calls him ancient — but doesn’t mention that the Arizona Senator’s war injuries actually prevent him from using computers for an extended period.

Asked whether he’s disappointed with the tone of the campaign, including the ad that Couric characterized as “making fun of John McCain’s inability to use a computer,” Biden said “I thought that was terrible by the way.

“I didn’t know we did it and if I had anything to do with it, we would have never done it”

WASHINGTON — Vice presidential candidate Joe Biden says today’s leaders should take a lesson from the history books and follow fellow Democrat Franklin D. Roosevelt’s response to a financial crisis.

When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, ‘Look, here’s what happened,”‘ Barack Obama’s running mate recently told the “CBS Evening News.”

Except, Republican Herbert Hoover was in office when the stock market crashed in October 1929. There also was no television at the time; TV wasn’t introduced to the public until a decade later, at the 1939 World’s Fair.

Joe Biden knows who solved the last depression.
He isn't too clear with extreme details, speaking freely, here, but he knew and I knew what he said!

Roosevelt did explain clearly and in honest detail what happened in 1929.
Although the original speech was on radio, it has been on television numerous times, where I'm sure Biden was referring!
Biden wasn't even born in 1929!

I don't know what Woo Hoo means!

Submitted by therealdeal on Wed, 09/24/2008 - 9:23am.

I won't argue with you that Biden is not too clear on extreme details. Seems odd that "knowing what they really meant" applies to your side, but strangely enough it indicates ignorance on ours. So hypocritical it is laughable.

And even though he said Roosevelt got on television, we all "know" he meant that he was actually on radio, but it has been replayed on television.....yeah, that makes sense....to you.

Maybe since he wasn't born in 1929 he'd better stick to history he lived through. That might improve his chances for accuracy, huh??

The Woo Hoo was copied from the original blog up there. Ask Main.

I understood it well.

Sounds a little like Mooseburger Palin though--- when Mayor not knowing that the Police Chief in a town of 2000 or so was charging rape victims a hefty sum for a kit to make the budget which she apparently didn't read! Sound fishy?
She didn't know her husband was a "separatist" either!

I just hope John never needs her for anything!

Using the same ignorant class and stereotype logic you used in coming up with "Mooseburger" instead of Sarah Palin's correct first name.....if one wanted to play that same game, they could write..... Watermelon Obama???? Is that how it works?

By the way, you could have just stopped when you said you understood well what Biden said. That alone would have proven your lack of intelligence without going on to attack her by name. If you thought your logic stood on its own merits, there would be no reason to disrespect someone. Right? It's pretty much like a lawyer in court. If you have no case, attack the person. Loser....

Well of course you understood it, you wrote it. Remember O schizo man, it's better to vote for the party you hate with a white guy, then the party you love with the black guy.

I guess Pickers$ mean me.

I am voting for John McCain, not a republican party!
Why is it so hard for some of you hard-heads to understand that?

However, that black guy is one intelligent dude! Glad he is in the Senate.

Correct. It is false that Campbell Brown is fragile and cute.

This, of course, is due to the fact that both conjuncts must be true in order for the entire conjunction to enjoy that status, and Campbell Brown is not fragile.

Big media (CNN, MSNBC, ABC etc.) has not shown respect for Sarah Palin, so this rant by Campbell Brown is meaningless. She's as rabid and hateful as the rest of them.

Awww... The big bad media is dissing her. Biden has held 54 press conferences since the end of the conventions. Palin has had one interview and a half hour infomercial with Hannity.

It she gets to be President, I'm sure Putin and Chavez will be sweet to her and not take advantage of the fact that she won't have the background to evaluate international issues.

Poor, poor thing. Still not close to ready for the big league.

At least Palin's detractors are real
Barack is so paranoid and unconfident that he makes up his detractors in his mind:

Barack Obama - GOP: "Did I Mention He's Black"

Barack's Dollar Bill Comment

At least Sarah had the guts to sit down with Sean Hannity. Barack is too scared of Sean to sit down and talk with him.

JeffC's picture
Submitted by JeffC on Wed, 09/24/2008 - 3:22pm.

It was an hour infomercial for McCain/Palin. I thought Sean was going to kneel beside her and start licking her face.

Biden has done 54 press conferences since the conventions.

Palin is a disaster for McCain. If the Republicans weren't so bigoted McCain could have picked Romney and would have been sitting pretty with an economic message now. But McCain couldn't pick a Mormon and ended up with a running mate that they're terrified might say something if she gets within twenty feet of a reporter.

Y'all think the American people are stupid.

Main Stream's picture

I missed the Sean and Sarah Show but I had submitted questions to Hannity via email for him to ask her....questions that wouldn't scare her like Charlie Gibson's did:

1) Does moose taste like chicken?

2) Did you get those glasses at Lenscrafters?

3) Do you and John McCain intend to enslave Whoopi Goldberg?

4) Why can't libs understand how sad it makes God when we teach our children science?

5) What would you do for a Klondike Bar?

6) The liberal elite are criticizing you for mentioning God in your speeches. Why do they hate puppies and Jesus?

7) You are against abortion, even in the case of rape or incest. If my daughter is raped, god forbid, and by law is forced to have the rapists baby, may I deliver the babe to you so you can raise it?

Oh, it sounds like McCain is trying to weazel out of the debates on Friday cuz of the economic situation - can't he chew gum and walk at the same time???

Here's part of the hard hitting interview that Palin had to endure:

(I'm not making this up, this is from the real transcript not the Onion)

HANNITY: "Is Senator Obama then using what happened on Wall Street this week? Is he using it for political gain? Is there a danger of a presidential candidate is saying to the world that America's situation of economic crisis is the worst that we've seen in decades-which was words that he was using yesterday. Is there a danger in terms of the world hearing that?"

PALIN: "Well, there is a danger in allowing some obsessive partisanship to get into the issue that we're talking about today. And that's something that John McCain too, his track record…he can surpass the partisanship that must surpassed to deal with an issue like this."

Hannity: What is our role as a country as it relates to national security?

Palin: Yes. That's a great question, and being an optimist I see our role in the world as one of being a force for good, and one of being the leader of the world when it comes to the values that -- it seems that just human kind embraces the values that -- encompass life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness, and that's just -- not just in America, that is in our world.

And America is in a position because we care for so many people to be able to lead and to be able to have a strong diplomacy and a strong military also at the same time to defend not only our freedoms, but to help these rising smaller democratic countries that are just -- you know, they're putting themselves on the map right now, and they're going to be looking to America as that leader.
We being used as a force for good is how I see our country.

I'm glad she made it out alive!

We as a country survived 4 sad years of your fathers presidency. No matter who wins this election the American people will survive.

Your father is a great man thats why he was not a great politician. We are at the same point financially and energy wise as when your dad left office. Actually financially I'm better off than my family was under your fathers presidency. So some things do get better with time.

At least the American people who work will survive. Those who expect free handouts probably will fall to the theory of evolution. That would be a good thing. This country will be stronger without the cancer of welfare.

I have a great book for you to read Jeff. It is written by an economics professor at Texas A&M University.

Stealing from Each Other: How the Welfare State Robs Americans of Money and Spirit. By Edgar K. Browning. Great read, although a little depressing when you look at how much money we are throwing into the fireplace.

Cheer up America will survive one way or another, even if we have a president who is half white and half Egytian Arab who supported infanticide in the state of Illinois

It's not my party nominating a person whose only qualification is that she hasn't had an abortion and it's not my party that is intent on nationalizing the economy. The Republican's have added about $10,000 per family to the national debt last week with another $700,000,000,000 coming this week and you're telling me to read a book on economics?

U.S. automakers get relief in massive spending bill approved by the House

The part I really enjoyed is:
"The companies hope to receive the loans at government interest rates of about 5 percent, which would save them about $100 million a year for every $1 billion in loans. The auto manufacturers have poor bond ratings and would only qualify for double-digit interest rates."

But lets be fair, "The loans were helped by the importance of Michigan, Ohio and Missouri, key auto manufacturing states, in the presidential campaign. Both Barack Obama and John McCain had expressed support for the loans."

I love it. The U.S. Govt. tells me that NAFTA will not effect the high paying technical jobs here in the U.S. but blue-caller jobs will go to whatever markets/countries will have them. “This will make America strong in the long run.”

Now try getting a college loan for anything under 11%.

How about the U.S. Govt. give it's citizens $100,000 college loans at 5%? The line would wrap around the Capitol building about 300 times.
