Comcast

We lost our cable in the Tuesday night storm.

We were promised Thursday and no show. Friday we were promised 2 to 5. At 5:15 a receptionist called to tell us the tech would not be out today and would 8 to 11 today (Sat) be OK. What choice did I have but say yes.

At 9:30 this morning the same receptionist called and asked "are you still having trouble with your cable?" Given we got home from Rascal Flatts at 2 this morning and was up at 8 to wait on Comcast you can understand my reaction was less than positive. She said he will now be here around 11:30. Yeah right.

So.... they haven't changed a bit in the 4 years since I dumped them.

Several years ago I experienced the exact same scenario as you described except I will take the liberty to add to it a bit. I got stood up on Friday, Monday, Tuesday, and like an idiot I agreed with a district manager to allow them to give me a taste of their "expedited service ticket". I was to meet them on Wednesday between the hours of 3:30 - 5:00 that afternoon. I arrived at the house at 2:45 only to find a message on my door that said they made a repair attempt BUT, I wasn't at home therefore the so-called "service" technician moved on to the next appointment.

With a smile on my face, peace and love in my heart, and with my sword sheathed in it's scabbard, I once again held on "ignore' for about 20 minutes before this sweet talking, seemingly caring customer "service" agent apologized profusely while rapidly trying to schedule me in for the next day. Not wanting to give her a piece of my mind or stroke out on the floor, I forced a smile and calmness upon myself as I made a spontaneous decision that I no longer needed the "services" of Comcast. I asked her to immediately cancel the service we had with them for well over 10 years and to note on my account that Comcast has lost this customer forever.

Appearing somewhat shocked at this unpremeditated decision, the nice lady (in what appeared to be very sincere words) asked the following question: "Oh my sir! What will you do now?" (As if TV was my life)

My calm response? "I don't know? But, what I can tell you is that I won't have Comcast anymore".

Well it's 4 years later and I've refused to put a dish in the yard or on the roof. I've made up my mind that IPTV was the future for the Git household. It's kind of been a long wait..... but, it appears there may finally be a light at the end of the tunnel. If not.... Oh well.......

I do confess.... I dearly miss the History Channel, sports channels and TV Land.
