With the national elections upon us, it seems as though local issues are simply getting swept aside to make room for the national headlines. This type of apathy can be very detrimental to our community and to our nation. The Conservatives for Truth organization has set out to counter act this mindset, and is determined to bring conservative principles and values to our local government. Conservatives for Truth stands united in the belief that true CHANGE begins from the ground up. We are a network of likeminded individuals that are not afraid to campaign at the grassroots level and fight for the conservative cause.

In order to ensure a more prosperous Fayette County, Conservatives for Truth firmly believes in a smaller, more limited government, we also fight hard for lower taxes, the constitution, and for freedom.

A suggestion if you don't mind though. Don't call your organization "conservatives for truth".

Why limit it to such a small segment?

I applaud your efforts to open the discussion on local issues. We, of the Democratic Party, agree that change must begin at the local level and urge citizens to take an active part in local government and local elections. Only through true dialogue based on issues can representative government continue to flourish. I would just add to that by saying that differences should not be based personalities, but on policy and issues. We may have distinct differences of opinion concerning policy (see Hamilton and Jefferson), but still maintain civil discussion. I look forward to hearing the views of your organization on local issues and of stating our views so that the voters can make informed decisions. Keep the faith.

Democracy is not a spectator sport.

In what way are you involved here in Fayette county? I see you are a "conservative" group. It seems that Fayette County has been conservative for many years and I think most of us want to keep it that way.

I agree that Fayette County has traditionally leaned conservative on many issues; our organization is designed to help keep this continuing. We feel that conservatives should never become too complaisant with our current standing in local politics. The Conservatives for Truth strongly believe that true governmental change begins on the local level, and we will work hard to insist that our representatives firmly believe in the conservative values of, limited government, low taxes, and the CONSTITUTION.
