Are "Printed Newspapers" destined to pass quietly into the night?

Cal, I think you may have had a poll on this at one time.

"Newspapers are bracing for more bad news"

Deep job cuts, outsourcing, more asset sales coming as industry retrenches

Cal, how are things looking at 'The Citizen'?

I hope advertising revenue vie this WEB site are near a point that it can sustain itself.

Perhaps you'll have to charge us rabble a fee to continue to abuse one another in the near future.

I'll gladly pay a reasonable fee to play. (You'll have to give at least three warnings before finally banning a paying member)

My opinion is that the Citizen is selling enough ads for now. If it were made a paid paper, the volume wouldn't be adequate to warrant ad buyers purchasing expensive ads! No chance it will ever favor anyone in the democrat party, however.

Many large papers are having to find something else to do. The AJC currently only has three days worth of decent reading---Tuesday through Thursday. Even the Sunday paper is useless.
