Tyrone Gossip: Barry Amos Hired By Stone Mountain

The Stn. Mtn Council appointed Amos as City Manager on May 6. The Mayor had held the job for the last 6 yrs for $300 per month. Do you think they are paying Barry the $102,000 per yr salary he was scheduled to make this year in Tyrone?

Stn Mtn’s population is 7,522, larger than Tyrone’s 5,900, yet they were able to operate without a high priced manager. At least Stn Mtn is a “Certified City of Ethics”, which has an independent board to investigate complaints, unlike Tyrone.

Barry had better watch his P’s & Q’s. Stn Mtn is the home of the GA KKK which held rallies there up until the 1980’s. The Grand Dragon was a large property owner and donated a lot of land to the City. The older residents will have no patience with the kind of crap Barry did in Tyrone.

Rumor has it that, Barry will hire Valerie for his assistant. That would relieve Tyrone’s cowardly Council of having to satisfy the wishes of its citizens. In a few years I can visualize a naked Barry, covered in black tar with white feathers, tied to the Caboose of the Stone Mountain Choo Choo. And Valerie running down the tracks hollering “WAIT FOR ME”, as the Engineer blows the whistle shouting, “NEXT STOP, TIMBUKTU!

Your continual insulting to Barry and Valerie makes people think you may be jealous of them. You have shown your true personalities in many of your posts. Whatever was meant your attacks on both parties seems have re-bounded on you. Thank you for not making anyone have to work to show the world how angry and embittered you really have become.
Think about this: 1) Barry lost his job and was unemployeed for a number of months which is extremely difficult in today's world. 2)Valerie experienced personal problems and suffered through more attacks and insults by the the biddies of Tyrone. Barry deserves to find a job and support his family. Are you so angry that you would not allow this to happen? Valerie hold her head up and ignores all the rude comments and continues to provide the town with professionalism. Whatever happens with the town her job has a limit and there are many people with more responsibilities so you can no longer hold her responsible for your problems.
So Thank You for proving that you are not able to get beyond the past and for proving how sad you really are.

Jealous of Barry & Valerie?

I would describe it as still suffering from the monetary losses they helped create by illegally abusing the zoning laws. If Barry had properly performed his job for the benefit of all the citizen, he would still have his job in Tyrone. The people who lost their businesses and property rights are still losing income. But you don’t care about that. You don’t care about the 90 year old woman who lost her retirement income. How about giving us your opinion of what happened to this elderly disabled lady? You think she deserves an income? And poor Valerie is still drawing a high salary while continuing to alter the records and wrongfully applying zoning laws; while officials refuse to investigate complaints in a lawsuit about her, when they know those complaints are legitimate. The taxpayers are continuing to pay legal fees to defend the wrongful acts of these two people. Wayne Adams is losing $2000 a month. Walter’s Auto has lost his auto repair income, Tyrone Transmission Co. is out of business and hasn’t made a dime since he was run-off. And on and on and on. Where’s your concern for all these people’s income? You don’t want to address these issues.

Thelma Lou experienced personal problems?

It is more like the town experienced personNEL problems and a LACK of professionalism.

You want compassion? Where was the compassion for us, the taxpayers? U have been rude to one and all, and now you want OUR SYMPATHY.

Please don't flatter yourselves.

The only thing that you could possibly have that is enviable would be a 75,000.00 ish a year salary with 100% town paid health benefits, and of course all that vacation time that you don't use and get paid for.

I can't say I know any other uneducated person with those kind of benefits, in fact I know a lot with college that don't get that.
Can you please tell anyone of us the justification of that? I'm all ears.

Barny in Stone Mountain is ...not the past....it is the present and the future....

The only thing I'm 'sad' about is that I PAID for those 100% insurance benifits. I'm also 'sad' and a bit po ed that I help pay that 75,000.00 ish salery for someone far less educated than myself.

I don't feel jealous...I feel seriously 'had' by a bunch of dummies that put Thelma and Barney in charge.
