Even Republican Chuck Hagel believes it's time for change...

The Bush admistration has succeeded in tipping the political scales so far to the right that even those in his own party believe that our country is in need of change.

Senator Chuck Hagel (R-NE) spoke recently at the Center for American Progress stating:

“The world does not want an America that imposes, that dictates, that lectures, that preaches, that invades, nor occupies...

“Reintroducing America to the world will be as important as any one thing this next president has to do,” Hagel asserted. In order to do this, he said, “we need to reverse the optics,” concentrating less on how we see the world, and more on how the world sees us.

If there’s one thing that Iraq has taught us, Hagel emphasized, quoting General David Petraeus, it’s that, “There is no military solution in Iraq.” What’s more, he said, “military power alone will not achieve the great objectives that are going to be required to meet these 21st-century challenges.”

Hagel called on the United States to renew international institutions and diplomacy, returning to a model built after World War II, when “we defined our relationships not by our differences, but by our common interests.”

This is the time for our leaders to look at the aftermath of WWII and learn from the diplomatic steps taken to work cooperatively with our allies and former enemies. It will take the moderate members of Congress to reach across the aisle and work feverously to restore America to its former prominence in global policies. I think that there are members of Congress looking forward to working together without the rhetoric and stalling tactics of the radical right and left.

DM - Barack is THE most far left liberal Senator in America today.
The kind of change that he is promising will destroy America from within, which is exactly what radical Muslims would like to see.

Don't you realize that the voters are beginning to get tired of that old saw. Last election it was John Kerry who was "THE most far left liberal Senator in America", before that it was Al Gore. Now it is Barak Obama. EVERYONE in America is to the far left of you. Keep the faith.

Obama: Most Liberal Senator In 2007

"Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., was the most liberal senator in 2007, according to National Journal's 27th annual vote ratings. The insurgent presidential candidate shifted further to the left last year in the run-up to the primaries, after ranking as the 16th- and 10th-most-liberal during his first two years in the Senate."

Hey Yardman, after you are done reading this, come back to my house.
You were supposed to use a mulching blade when you mowed my lawn and I want you to do it over again.

The Democrat nominee always becomes the “most liberal” in the National Journal. Obama was rated number 1 and Hillary was number 16. This difference is based on exactly two scores where they differ. The first was Joe Lieberman's S.Amdt. 30 to S.Amdt. 3 to S.1. The Amendment was "To establish a Senate Office of Public Integrity” where Obama voted against Clinton but voted with John McCain. The second was Jeff Bingaman's S.Amdt. 1267 to S.Amdt.1150 to S.1348, the Immigration Reform bill where Obama voted with Richard Shelby, Chuck Hagel, and Tom Coburn.

So Obama became more liberal than Clinton by voting with John McCain, Richard Shelby and Tom Coburn.

Here are links to the roll call votes in the Senate:

They write that stuff knowing you’ll either swallow it whole or not care whether it’s true.

Do you think any "liberal" candidate can do worse for us than has the current bunch of ignorant bandits?
There are so many things screwed up that none can be the key subject, like the economy, the debt, the wars, the foreclosures, crooked banks, huge debt, our infrastructure crumbling, oil, gas, trade imbalance, loss of manufacturing, illegals, lies, secrets, tapped phones, torture, etc., etc.
"CHANGE" of any and all kinds sounds good to me. Pick one or some!

after WII were not universally accepted by all. Yes we did apply pressure mainly economic to break European colonialism but in some instances US policy was mired in the fight against communism. VietNam is an excellent example. This was a French colony and after the war French nationalists wanted it back. The French communist party was advocating giving it up. Guess who we supported. We certainly turned our back to the Middle East and got stuck in something that even our own CIA had grave doubts about the out come. Maybe we can learn something; I sure hope so.
