Beep.....I agree with you (did I just say that?!), on this song. Although, I am never able to listen to it for too long b/c it chokes me up...it's got a good message.

"Picture a bright blue ball, just spinning, spinnin free,
Dizzy with eternity.
Paint it with a skin of sky,
Brush in some clouds and sea,
Call it home for you and me.
A peaceful place or so it looks from space,
A closer look reveals the human race.
Full of hope, full of grace
Is the human face,
But afraid we may lay our home to waste."

"once in a while you can get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right"
"listen to the thunder shouting, "I AM, I AM, I AM"

Kyrie Eleison - which means "Lord Have Mercy"

Home > Catholic Encyclopedia > K > Kyrie Eleison
www.newadvent.com

Kyrie Eleison
Kyrie Eleison (Greek for "Lord have mercy"; the Latin transliteration supposes a pronunciation as in Modern Greek) is a very old, even pre-Christian, expression used constantly in all Christian liturgies. Arrian quotes it in the second century: "Invoking God we say Kyrie Eleison" (Diatribæ Epicteti, II, 7). A more obvious precedent for Christian use was the occurrence of the same formula in the Old Testament (Psalm 4:2, 6:3, 9:14, 25:11, 121:3; Isaiah 33:2; Tobit 8:10; etc., in the Septuagint). In these places it seems already to be a quasi-liturgical exclamation. So also in the New Testament the form occurs repeatedly (Matthew 9:27, 20:30, 15:22; Mark 10:47; Luke 16:24, 17:13). The only difference is that all these cases have an accusative after the verb: Kyrie eleison me, or eleison hemas. The liturgical forumula is shortened from this.

My husband was in radio and probably played this at least 1000 times or more.

Outstanding!

My favorite country rock band is like a cross between Marshall Tucker and the Grateful Dead...Little Feat. They're not as well known as the aforementioned, but they have a down home funky sound. All of their songs make ya smile and want to sing along. My fav is "Dixie Chicken".

Good band.

They just played the Variety in Little Five (along with Hot Tuna) this past Sunday.

Gotta LOVE Little Feat! Feats don't fail me now....helped me out of MANY a jam.

I have a VERY difficult time naming which Feat song I like the best...it sort of depends on which I am listening to at the time. I like "Rock and Roll Doctor" and "Lafayette Railroad", two completely different types of songs. Whatever they are playing, they are TIGHT. I will have to say the "Waiting for Columbus" is the best live album I own (with a nod to "24 Nights", of course) Keep the faith.

All of their songs are toe tappers. Even if I am in a bad mood or had a bad day, all I have to do is plug in some Little Feat and soon the smile returns. The music makes you want to move.

Also like:

Poco

Mott the Hoople

Doors

Stevie Ray Vaughn

Clapton

Bob Seger (especially earlier music)

Queen

Allman Brothers

Marshall Tucker Band

Cound go on forever!

You're right.

Kashmir is GREAT too!

Number 1.1, but like I said, it all depends on where and when you grew up.

I happen to think MH's, "Whiskey Man" & "Dreams I'll Never See" are right up there too.

All kidding aside I've had to pray .38 Special's "Take Me Back" would pull my a$$ out of trouble every now and again. (You keep a horse like that in the backyard in PTC and talk to me about problems)
