Tyrone’s Zoning Ordinance is Sacred

Rumor has it that the Planning Commission & Council are secretly working on a religious monument to honor the Founding Fathers of Ordinance 454. The graven image will be displayed at Council hearings and sacraments given to the idols of Amos, Smola, Lee, Letourneau, & Nebergall in lieu of the Pledge of Allegiance and Prayer. Anyone coming before Council for a zoning amendment will be found guilty of blasphemy, taken into Council chambers and sacrificed on an altar as an offering to the deity. Later this year, Valerie will induct the new Council and Planning Commissioners into the Tyrone Hall of Shame.

The new Council was so quick to go back on their promise to change the zoning ordinance. Remember how the election candidates were always going before Council and criticizing Mayor Lee for going back on her promises? They were jealous of Lee’s record on breaking her promise. So the new electees decided to beat Lee’s record by a full year. They are the all-time winners, with a record never to be broken. Most politicians usually wait a while hoping the voters will forget their promises. These dishonorees are in the league with Bush Sr’s, famous “Read my lips” promise and Clinton’s “I did not have sex with that woman”. Read Tracy Young’s lips “I will repeal that ordinance” in the October 20, 2007 Citizens Newspaper.
