This is what it looks like

This is how people want to drive when they get in one

I am a big Infiniti guy. Every car they sell is athletic and the service is top notch. But, on a whim, I went to check out the new BMW 1 series I'd read about in car books. The car guys were gushing over its speed. I went over to the formerly Hank Aaron BMW place, and 5 minutes later we were driving. WOW! This car is angry, stupid fast! I was in awe. Faster than a mustang GT. Faster than most anything with four seats I've ever driven! If you are looking at any small sports coupes, check this little number out, then come by and pick me up. Coffee will be on me (literally).

Cheers,

Hack

People can say what they want, but BMW builds some fine driving cars. My first was an 82 733i with a manual transmission. That's one thing I love about BMW, they make cars with stick shifts.

I would love to have a base 128I with the manual. But I bet that turbo 135I is a real bear. Smiling

that folks are making cars they call "sports cars" but offer no manuals? This little Bimmer sets the bar way the heck up there. My neighbor just got a 3 series two door coupe. I wonder what he would have bought if the 1 series had been in showrooms then.
My dad has the lone German in our family fleet. He has a one owner 1986 635CSI. A beauty and a great handler, but compared to the power of today's middle finger to gas prices sports cars, it is enimic. I checked some stats today. The only four passenger with similar performance to the 1 series within 15,000 bucks is the Audi A5. And it costs 60k!
With our budget and a girl prepping for college, I'll let someone buy mine now, drive it for 15 to 20,000 miles, and then I'll buy it in a year to a year and a half. I hate the initial depreciation hit.

Cheers!
