AF A-10's picture

I just found a male and female black lab on robinson road near braelin road. Call 817-845-7706. Please ask aroumd to see if anyone you know has info. These dogs have definitely grown up together and are extremely friendly. My three dogs are going nuts, so I hope we find the owners quickly.

Cheers,

Obviously they have come here from a neighboring county and are genetically predisposed to destroy Christmas Trees. They don't belong here! Only golden labs are welcome in this county. Do I need to arm myself?

Guess we have a life...family...thoughts other than "Bush lied...people died...also a craving for Mexican food!! But, don't worry...WE'RE BACK.

I would think this would concern you army brat. I weep for these soldiers and their families. I was in Germany during the 1st Gulf War and my entire former housing area had deployed...you should be particularly in tuned with the devastating effects of war on military families.

I was there when we got the call that they didn't know what had happened to my Dad, who was in Vietnam, when his unit was attacked. And I am also, in tuned with my sister that has three disabled kids and a husband in the middle of his second tour in Iraq. My whole family has stayed "in tuned" to the point of making sure she has a home here with us and as much support that we can give. And, my brother-in-law has assured us that what we are doing in Iraq, in his humble opinion, is "in tuned" with what needs to be done there.

I am sure you understand why some of us do not support the manner in which Bush has conducted the invasion and war in Iraq.
I am sorry to hear of your travails and those of your family. It is exactly that sort of story that causes me to question WHY we went there this time. The first Bush knew better than to get embroiled in that country, and it seems he simply did not pass on that knowledge to his son. We can agree to disagree on this, but please know that I will always support our troops.

You are back, for sure. I will say this, Bush has made Reagan look better, he who had made Grant look good.

can't we quick change the rules or vote for something...universal health care, Iraq withdrawal, district voting...anything...something progressive? Keep the faith

How did the vet visits go with the microchip theory?

Let me know if I can do anything to help. My email is available

The best things to do to help find the owners are threefold:

- Call the Animal Shelter and tell them you have them in case the owners call there looking for them. They will put you together if that happens.

- Post flyers in the area.

- Take them to a vet and have them scanned in case they have microchips. That would be the best case scenario!

You are a good man to pick them up and take them home so they aren't hurt out in the road. Good luck.

Zoes, your avatar is my favoritist, 'cause I have a Beagle. She aint diggin the big new visitors. Neither are my Chihuahua or Border collie! The flyers are up from Ebinezer Church to Redwine. The vets and the Animal Shelter were closed by the time I got home and today Sad. I spent most of the day at the dog park trying to sell them Smiling kidding, kidding. Met alot of nice folks though. Please spread the word, as my car's interior can't take much more. We'll make the veterinary rounds tomorrow.

Cheers,

It looks like somebody in PTC abandoned them, as in moving. Most people have name tags on big dogs in case/cause they do/ get out. I would take them but I have 3 already. Labs though, are not that hard to find homes for as they are expensive. They are about 400.00 a piece, be careful if you keep them and try to adopt them out. People sell them to laboratories at the medical schools.

but if our pound took 'pets', this sort of thing wouldn't happen. You wouldn't be traumatised trying to do a good thing and neither would the dogs. Our pound's policy is just plain ...WRONG..! And things just like what is happening to you is a direct result of it!

That is wonderful you posted it and didn't call the pound. That was a very neighborly and kind thing you did. I hope the owner reads the paper.

Two false leads. Tomorrow we begin the vet circuit.
Spent all day with the dogs. Shhhh, Don't tell my wife, but I fished a piece of still cold pork roast out of the trash (I thought it was too young to throw away anyhow) and gave it to my new best friends. These dogs are great. They are sleeping on my deck and the three resident inside dogs aren't rubbing it in. I will not let these dogs be harmed. If no one claims them, I hope there are bloggers out there willing to adopt two beautiful and very well behaved labs. They rode around in the best car I have all day to and from false leads and the dog park, and there isn't a scratch in or on it. Just a bit of slobber. Cheers all

Hack
If you were at the dog park on Sunday between 10:00 and 11:30, your new friends were probably playing and running with my wonderful (rescued) dog. My husband and a friend were there.
We have talked about getting a friend for our dog, but with white carpet and red clay out back, you can imanage what a work out my carpet cleaner is getting. Good luck with finding them a home. Make sure to put up flyer's at the dog park and vets.

Sunday is always the worst day on my commute to and from work. People are always dummping out dogs on country roads.

I hope you find the owners.

That they would enjoy living on a farm 900 miles from here? Smiling

Believe it or not, they would be taken care of. Problem is getting them there. LOL!

Birmingham, Carbon Hill, fan belt stop.... Tupelo, Memphis, West Memphis, Little Rocks, Fort Smith, Muskogee, OKC. I could certainly do it again. But I'm hoping a heart broken family runs into one of my fliers or gets a call from their vet tomorrow. It would save me 1100 miles of dog farts Eye-wink

No one has claimed ownership of the two wonderful black labs I found Saturday the 26th. The 80 pound male (un-fixed) and 75 pound female (unknown whether or not she's fixed) are VERY WELL BEHAVED. They have been around kids from 4 years old and up. They have been in my house. They interact very well with other dogs. At the PTC dog park, they both were very playful and showed absolutely no agressiveness.

THESE GUYS NEED A LOVING HOME.

Git Real, I will drive them to OKC if your family is serious about taking them in. They are not on a tight time table at the shelter, but I want to get them out of the cages ASAP. Please talk to all of your friends. These dogs are very loving and will be a fantastic addition to anyone's home.

Cheers
