Fayette County has made the national news, of sorts. So this is how others see us (at least partially). Being conservative is one thing, being so conservative as to be the object of ridicule is something else entirely. What can we do to insure that we stay true to our principles, yet do not become so firmly focused on them that we miss the big picture, and an opportunity to prove that we, indeed, DO have a better idea about how to run a local government? Obviously, we have miscalculated somewhat here. Keep the faith.

Democracy is not a spectator sport.
