Westmoreland suddenly getting smart?

What's up with Lynn Westmoreland? I thought it was safe to classify him as dolt and non-thinker who just votes by how he's told from the Repub leadership, and he now starts showing some intelligence.

His first blast of smart happened when he rightfully criticized the Bush/Congress tax giveback plan that recently passed as wasteful and rather meaningless when the country is spending obscene amounts of money and going further into debt. Score one for Westmoreland! Bonus points for not being afraid to tell the truth amidst all the joyous cheering of the masses that they'll be getting a whopping $300 or so to somehow stimulate the economy for about 10mins.

Next up for Lynn was coming to the defense of ATLANTA and SHIRLEY FRANKLIN, two topics that Repubs are not known for ever saying kind words about. When asked about the never ending water wars and crisis, Westmoreland accurately stated "it's always easy to kick Atlanta" and then went on to credit Franklin for doing something about it(new quarry that can hold about an ocean or two of water). Hey, Lynn is living in the reality where Atlanta is an economic engine that drives the state and he isn't embarrassed to say it or worried that suburban Repubs who picture Atlanta has 99% black and crime-ridden might get upset.

OK Lynn, now that you've shown you really get it and have some convictions beyond the standard party lines, we expect you to continue to do so:) You've shown you're capable and not a doofus so expectations just got higher for you.

It's pretty hard to be a complete idiot all the time.

(Go ahead, Westmoreland supporters, congratulate me!)

Blind pigs are used to root out truffles(undergound fungus) not acorns. This happens mostly in France - so there you are - Frenchies know how to get it done.

Getting back to Westmoreland, yes he's got it right - everyone up there does once in a while - like a blind pig................. finding ............................. never mind.

I don't agree with Lynn on every issue by no means, but I've seen him take some very unpopular stances, in oppostion to that idiot Speaker Hastert, and vote on principles.

Again, Lynn and I disagree on several issues, not the least of which is the 10 commandments being posted in Government buildings and Schools. Why just the 10, why not all 609, or why not some of the Koran, you know the reward of 72 virgins will motivate our young men in our High Schools win the State Championship.

But I remember years ago when the media was screaming about Hurricane Katrina, and Hastert and the Republicans literally wrote a blank check of 50 billion to New Orleans. Lynn was one of the few that objected, against the will of the leadership.

Guess who was right. That 50 billion is gone, and unaccounted for, and since both Democrats and Republicans signed off on it, --or if they didn't they'd be called racists, then no politician there will be no investigation into what ever happened to it all.

Lynn is in a very conservative district. He has the luxury of voting conservative and being appreciated for it.

The next time though, that a comedy central show comes calling for an interview, Lynn needs to watch the prior shows first, to know they are going to do their very best in making fun of you, so you better come prepared with your own tongue in cheek gags.
