The McIntosh Girls Lacrosse team, ranked #4 in the state, took on the Northview Titans (ranked #2 in the state and last year's state runner-up) at Northview stadium on Wednesday night.

It wasn't pretty.

McIntosh suffered their most lopsided defeat in their program's 4 year history, losing 20-3 in front of a raucous crowd. Northview scored two goals in the final 10 seconds of regulation time to add insult to injury. The McIntosh girls seemed to have problems with Northview stadium's new Astroturf surface, which made even the heavy lacrosse ball bounce.

The McIntosh junior varsity girls also lost to the Northview junior varsity by a score of 15-0. The JV girls played about 10 minutes of unexpected overtime when the game clock malfunctioned with 2 minutes left in the game and nobody noticed!

The bus ride back from Northview was memorable as the bus began to have transmission problems and the driver was forced to drive a maxiumum of 35 miles per hour on the Interstate.

The bus driver said this was the same bus that had the transmission fail on a recent trip to a basketball tournament trip to Alabama, stranding a girls high school basketball team there for an extra day.
