Snow in Fayetteville, woo-hoo!

John Munford's picture

UPDATE: 3:19 p.m.

The tiny flakes have eaten their Wheaties apparently. Not only are they bigger but there are more of them. We're getting reports of significant snow in Peachtree City.

Get it while it lasts folks!

Earlier, at 2:57 p.m.

Thanks to an interpid correspondent in Peachtree City, The Citizen staff took a brief trip outside about 2:57 p.m. to discern if it was indeed snowing or not.

The flakes were so imperceptible that it took a few seconds to identify if it was rain, sleet or snow.

Several ions of the precipitation hit my face and didn't dribble down like rain or sleet would. It was definitely snow!

I grew up in Kentucky and had my own snowsuit as a child so this is a pathetic snow by my standards. But I live in GA now and unfortunately this is about the best I can get.

Thanks to C.T. in PTC for giving us the heads-up!

has big snow flakes, some beginning to stick to the ground. Please let it do this all night so I don't have to go on a school field trip tomorrow! Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

are we out in our snow gear? For hours on end shoveling and shoveling. This is a little cold rain with a errant snow flake here and there (mostly there). Try being snowed inside your house for a weekend because the snow is so deep and has drifted up to you second story windows......so deep that you could jump out your window into it without worrying (it's fun too!). the only way around town is on snowmobiles, cross country skis or snowshoes and everybody is geeting along and helping each other out. Something is dreadfully wrong if kids think they will get off a day for this and people are scrambling around buying up bread, milk and supplies and worrying about generators. For some sick reason I miss it too.
