PETITION FOR NEW TYRONE MANAGEMENT

Four Hundred Twenty Two (422) people signed the petition to replace Barry Amos and Valerie Fowler-Caldwell as Town Mgrs. It is being delivered to the new Town Council this week. Included are the list of 25 signatures that were stolen from Wayne Adams’ desk by supporters of the old Council, during their dirty tricks election campaign. The number of signers is more than the so-called 313 respondents to the Comprehensive Redevelopment Survey, which Amos said represented the people’s desire. The list includes citizens, property owners, business owners and people who do business in Tyrone, as well a current and past Council and Planning Commission members. These are not the small group of people that supporters of the old regime claim to be trouble makers. Many are long time residents and former residents who have moved because of the way this Town has been run, including former good Tyrone employees who were run off by Amos. This petition is not subject to any frivolous election re-call procedural excuses; it is a vote of no confidence. The signers suggest that Barry and Valerie turn in their resignations. We ask the Council to take action. We are sick and tired of having to deal with these two over-paid taxpayer employees, who have trashed property rights, created secrecy, favoritism, unequal protection, supported destructives laws, not performed their ministerial duties, ignored good laws and have maneuvered themselves into a position of too much power. And when they leave, they can take their Town Attorney with them. Happy New Year.

Looks like Tyrone911 & Lemmondrop87 are trying to lay the groundwork for the "new group" to lay the blame for all the problems of Tyrone on the "old group". Will be interesting to see how they try to spin any new problems into "its the old groups fault". Dawn Hasel, you left out the most important suggestion, "have meeting open to the public".

We know you are Kathy Winton/Smartypants!

Shaquita no one has to play the blame game. We had an election and the old ones know what we thought of the job they didn't do! Yeah, would have to be Kathy Winton. That is such a lame thing to say.

it came to this. If the old group had done something, people wouldn't be in the unenviable place of having to resort to a petition. If the past Mayor and council had done their jobs, read their information about what was to be voted on well ahead of the meetings, and formed their own decisions, it is possible this wouldn't have been needed. Instead, all they seemed to do was show up and draw a check and let Barry and Valerie run the town. When this comes down, I don't want to hear of any of them saying how bad they feel about it. Mayor Lee, Smola, Letroneau, you are to blame for not doing your job. Now you have left a total mess for the new government to clean up. There is one bright side to this. Gloria and Grace won't be out voted time and time again and have to watch helplessly as they try to help the citizens. This is the beginning of a new era for Tyrone and it will only get better. I feel so sorry for the new people having to dig throught the dirt and clean the town up. Thanks to all of you who cared enough to run and make it a better place for the rest of us.

Well said Lemmondrop. It is sad when government gets out of hand. Thank God for Democracy; the citizens just have to pay attention to their representatives in the future. We know there is a big mess to clean up. There is no telling what we don't know?. The new Council must start with a financial audit, then examine the zoning codes. Train themselves and the Planning Commission on legal regulations and procedures plus communicate with those who have lawsuits. The bidding and purchasing process has been questionable and that stupid sign ordinance needs revisions. A new Town Attorney is a must, ASAP.
