Dear Ms. Winton,

Thank you for revealing what many already know, i.e. that you are a member of the Tyrone Planning Commission. Now, the honorable thing for you to do is resign. When you were appointed, you agreed to represent all citizens and property owners in a fair, knowledgeable and impartial way. This you have not done. You have used this website to criticize, and belittle your fellow citizens for speaking out about our government as though property rights and other laws were not important and that we were just trying to cause trouble. This website was the only voice we had. Tyrone officials had already time after time ignored us. The Fayette News refused to allow their reporters to write about anything unlawful or negative about Tyrone. No one wants to pay $500 or more to go before a Planning Commission only to be put down with laws not properly followed. It has been obvious to us that Planning Members and Council are unknowledgeable about Tyrone regulations and could care less. Therefore, in violation of the public trust you should resign. However, in view of your apology, you would be justified in remaining on Planning if you can demonstrate your knowledge of the law as it applies to your duties by answering the following questions on this website.

1. Cite Georgia and Tyrone law/regulations regarding what the Planning Commission shall do when presented a proposal for rezoning and amendments. Include procedure, standards of evaluation, and any other requirements.

If you ignore this citizens’ request, then turn in your resignation. If you don’t know your lawful duties, you should be asking why and where?

I am lowering myself by blogging a response to you but I have had enough of you crap. I grew up in Tyrone and my father was a large part of it's council and built the fire station, as well as what was once a strong group of volunteer firefighters. When I moved home and bought my parents house I promised myself that I would become more involved in the town. There are many people in this town that influenced my growth as an adult like: Roger Spencer, The Deatons, The Wiggins, Carolyn and Tommy Joe Chatain, Cheryl Lee, Bill McLemore and many more. Tyrone is a growing and family oriented town that has that "small Town" appeal. That is what I envision for this town and hope that it develops that way.
I need to apologize to anyone I insulted in the short time that I blogged during the elections. Sadly, I found myself responding and saying thing to people just to pull their chains and make them mad. I got angry because some of the bloggers brought personal things from peoples lives that they had no business bringing up. Things that those people could not have controled if they had wanted too. When I realized that I had fallen into the trap that did not make me any better than those people that were saying horrible things I quickly stopped blogging.
To those people that showed for the November comission meeting I was proud to see you all there. It is important to have a say in what you want you community to become or not become. Your voice is what your commision and your council members need to hear. If you do not state your concerns or ask your questions than no one knows what you, as a community, want to see happen.
Lastly dear Sugarfoot I just want to say "I may be round and/or fat". I can loose weight but, I do not see you changing that hateful and attacking personality.
As for everyone else, this Thursday is another planning commision meeting. Come to the meeting and put some interest in your community because "YOU" are the Tyrone of tomorrow.

It looks like some may not share the same views for the town as our new leaders or the people that elected them. If these people are for sewer downtown and higher density they will pass things the rest of us do not want. No on wants to see an even greater burden on the schools. How do people get on the planning committe?

Wow! Your daddy was a large part of Tyrone's council? How did he do that? or did he just hold one position at a time like everyone else?

If it was Bary and Valerie...that is correct..you took a jab or two at Gloria and Grace...and informed us all we need sewer downtown...as I said earlier...you need to come off the planning committe one way or the other..below are a few quotes from this paper..PS...no one could figure out where the '''I really look good ..." came from..it was very inappropriate...to say the least! and left everyone stunned.

I was remiss in submitting a question. You are correct in that statement. I though that there would be more question asked other than the Valerie and Barry show. Listening to the answer to the questions that were asked gave a clear indication of hw I intend to vote. After the gentleman stood from the floor and made his statement I had planned to stand and ask a question but the forum ws closed. My bad because I wanted to ask the candidates the following " what woul you say is the most pressing concern that the town is now experiencing and how would you correct it. I am concerned about the lack of sewer in the city and how it will effect any business that wants to establish in this town. Without our business area and an increase in residential will cause the town to raise taxes. There were many great questions asked at the forum. Some of them, including the religious question were inappropriate.

It is my understanding is there is very limited sewage downtown and that there needs to be better sewage lines. What is the truth?
At the town council meeting I get frustrated with Grace and Gloria asking the same question 7 different ways. An example: new lawnmower. How hard is it to understand that the lawnmower in question had been repaired so many times that the money spent on repairs could buy another mower. The girls just did not get it. I wished that the employee sitting in the rear of the building would have stood up and brought the broken parts in so they could understand. I also question some things that were said about the cemetary roadway. The councilwoman kept calling one of the roads an un-named road. I went there to find out what the fuss was about and found that the road had a name. Going to a council meeting I like sitting at a tennis match. The ball gets lobbed back and forth and off the court much like many of the meetings there.

I justed wanted to say "Thank You" for my education on small towns and small minded people. I am done responding and wasting my time and/or energy on your silly and spiteful pettiness. I have spent far too much reading what a small group of people write. You write nasty and evil things about people. I have read far too many things about people that you do no like. s that you have spread about the people you do not like. I am sad to see that a political event have turned out a group of haters that make this town look really bad. I am shamed to have been a contributing part of this blogging site because all I did was stir you up and give you more opportunity to critize me and the the town. I wonder what people from other parts of the county and surrounding counties think of Tyrone after reading these blogs? I would not to move here after reading all the crap on here. I wish you all the best. I hope that one day you grow up and pray that you live confortably with yourselves and sleep well at night.

Birch has trailers and I think Tyrone Elementary does too. Does she realize there are vacant storefronts in Publix's shopping center on 74? Why was such an unknowlegable and unprofessional person put on the planning committee?

The meeting began with the commission swearing in new commissioner Kathy Winton and was followed by the approval of a conceptual site plan for Lots 9 and 10, Phase VII of the Shamrock Industrial Park. The lots will share a driveway and previous concerns about lighting were addressed. The lighting on the site will now being shielded and directed downwards.

Jondough- WTH? Let me see if this helps you because I am far from dumb. (I may not spell well or have proper grammer- dang government education!) Where are the candidates?? First, I do not hang out at the town hall. I went to the first day of Founder's Day but did not stay because the pet costume contest was canceled. I am sorry that I am not sure where my vote is going. Gimme a break because I am sure that there are more people that live in this town that are in the same position. Sheesh!!I do read the newspapers. The only piece of information regarding the candidates was a taped note on my mail box. That is one candidate out of how many??? No one has been in my neighborhood and introduces themselves. No one has mailed a darn thing about where they stand. There are signs up with people's names but it does not tell me what they want for this town. I am not Valerie, and I do not work in the city. My day consist of getting up at 4:30 AM driving 45 miles to work, doing my job, driving 45 miles home and arriving on my door step at 6:00 PM. The candidates have not done a great job of getting out and meeting the people other than attending town council meetings. I have been to the last several council meetings to find out what is going on where I live. Not one of those candidates introduces themselves. So I am sorry you are not thrilled about what I have had to say Mr. McNasty but atleast I will be attending a forum to listen to the candidates since they have not gotten out to shake hands and kiss babies.

Are we to understand you slammed Gloria and Grace and then touted sewer as what downtown Tyrone needed just to get people upset? It seems you also took a swipe at people about the cemetery off Trickem Creek road that I, for one, feel is a travesity. You said you went there to the torn up grave yard and couldn't see what the fuss was all about and that the street does have a name? What is it? Winton Way? Do you understand that those people have half million dollar houses sitting on a so called 'access' road. Because the developer was 'let' term it an access road, those people now live on a road that is not curbed, guttered, or paved and is only wide enough for one car at a time to go down? They will have no mail on their so called access road, nor garbage pickup. They will have to go all the way down to Trickem Creek for both despite the fact they will have to pay taxes as though they did have these services? And you don't see what all the fuss is over?

Then you turn around and say you did all this in the Citizen just to get people going and further state THEY ARE THE ONES WHO BITTER ARE AND SPITEFULL?

Then the real punch in the stomach, you are on the planning committe for Tyrone?

Would you folks, that live in Tyrone, please get some decent restaurants! Why in the world did you all agree to put a Waffle House in that strip mall area? Why not something a little more upscale?

I apologize, but I said what I had to say! I don' think you were, or are, remorseful for saying "what you had to say." If you meant it, why apologize? Looks Christian does it?

This is like many of our current Christians: Go to church, sing and shout and ask for forgiveness; then head out on Monday being very non-Christian-- gossiping, criticizing, drinking, gambling, preying on others, etc., then on Wednesday, back to Church.

God works in many ways so maybe this was his present to Tyrone. Hopefully it can be rectified before any damage is done. Merry Christmas Tyrone. We have a lot to be thankfull for.
