NO MATTER WHO WINS......

tommorow's election some of us will be saddened, some will be joyous, but I fear the preponderance of will go about our lives with the same indifference that permeates our city. My prediction is that some 25-30 percent of registered voters will actually show at the polls--Please prove me wrong!
Irregardless of the outcome the issues facing us will not change. TDK must be stopped else we end up some twenty years hence with a four-lane that is currently Crosstown Road and Ebenezer Road with perhaps a traffic light at the intersection at Robinson Road.
The westside annexation is still much unresolved and I see a major conflict within the new Peachtree City Council. Hopefully, the betterment of our town will prevail. The same applies regarding the Kohls/ Big Box issue.
Years of having our kids attending neighborhood schools is about to change which does not bode well for Peachtree City. Now our kids are to be bussed to schools further in distance than the two-tenths of a mile they now walk.
To whoever wins tommorow I wish you good fortune and the challenge to act in our best interests. 2008 will indeed be interesting.

There were only 80 who voted at my poll by 11:45 AM.

I'm for TDK, but I surely don't like the people behind Matt Ramsey. It's not worth getting your head cut off in order to get a new hat.

With the "early voting", I'm not sure how accurate they are anymore. Still, VERY low turnout.

Won't the winner have to run all over again next fall?

Wife and I are fixing to go vote. We vote at the City Hall/Library. Nothing like waiting until the last minute. Smiling

I feel sure that smarter heads will prevail on allowing kids who live within a short walking distance of a school, will be allowed to do so as a special case. I don't know if .2 mile is the number or if mileage is the only criteria, but it is sheer stupidity to do otherwise!

The shortest distance from the closest home in McIntosh Corner is just under three-tenths of a mile from Huddleston/ the furtherest is just over a half-mile. You are correct in exceptions may prevail, however, this was done under the premise that neighborhoods such as mine would increase the school's (Huddleston) student population which was proven incorrect.
My point being is that now I believe we have a good start toward our city's woes in the election of two new Councilmen, and it is my hope that today's election does us equally as well.
