Wow, what an exciting night. I just could not let this night go by without posting a BIG thanks for lots of reasons.
Thanks to the FCHS Coaching Staff, Players, Parents, Students, and we get to do this all over again next week. I will be there, ready to go again.

Next, thank you to all the Parents and Students who donated cash for former Police Officer Jeff Keahey. The announcement was made just before half time. The money that was given tonight will be given to Jeff tomorrow at the softball game that is being played. I will post previous article written earlier this week with the details. SO, if you are a sports fan and did not get enough excitment tonight, please come out tomorrow for a great cause.

Again, thank you (truely from my heart), for donating tonight, it is greatly appreciated.

See you tomorrow, and once again, congrat's TIGERS, I am so very proud of you and look forward to next week.

Benefit softball game is Saturday

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department and the Fayetteville Police Department are squaring off in a softball game Saturday for a special cause.

Jeff Keahey used to work for both departments and is battling cancer. Keahey’s family is struggling with medical bills, and all proceeds from Saturday’s game will go to the family. The event starts at McCurry Park at noon and includes a softball game, pie-throwing competition and a knife raffle. Admission for the game is $3 for adults and $2 for children. Raffle tickets are $5 each, or five tickets for $20.

... that with all the negative attitudes you read on here about our community, the feelings spewed by so many people over where it has been, where it's at, where it's headed ... that something so pure and simple as a the game of FOOTBALL has rallied folks and united them and made them swell with pride and given us hope, and reminded us that we ARE a special community of people from all shapes and sizes, colors and backgrounds, likes and dislikes ... but a COMMUNITY nonetheless, one of the best anywhere, and one WORTH FIGHTING FOR despite what the naysayers would have us all believe?

FAYETTE COUNTY -- We're not done yet.
