The man is in favor of the Consumer Tax. He is not getting a dime from me.

I guess you enjoy getting taxed left right and middle on everything you earn buy, and even look at.

Wow! I did not realize you do not understand the Consumer Tax. Sorry. One of the criteria used to promote the tax is that it is supposed to be revenue neutral. That means when applied it will collect no more or no less taxes, but rather than getting you from the front end they are going to get you from the rear end.

It looks like you don't understand it either.

Please explain how my statement demonstrates a lack of understanding as you suggest. And just don’t tell me to read the book or go to the web site.

I'm curious, did you try to work this out based on your expenditures? Did it work? I did a scenario based on the proposed .23% tax on goods and services and found I would pay an additional $2,300 more in Federal taxes each year. Add a big ticket expense item like a car @ $25,000, and add another $5,700 in taxes. I'm I missing something? Puzzled

A tax of .23% is about $23 tax per ten thousand ($10,000) spent.
I think you must have meant 23%, without the decimal!
It is not going to happen anyway, since there would be a cottage industry black-marketing around everything nearly.
It used to be done on cigarettes bought in North Carolina and sold in New York City--where the taxes were ten times North Carolina.
During WWII, there was a huge black market for nearly anything, due to scarcity not taxes.
I assume you might of heard of the stupid drinking alcohol laws of the 1920s? There was more alcohol after the law than before. Most cops and their supervisors were bought off.
What we need, and will work, is a combination of tariffs on goods into the USA, and a revised income tax plan: small amount of taxes on small wages; medium tax on middle income; and medium plus ?, on high income. No deductions for individuals or corporations.
One simple card to fill out and mail in order to get a bill from the government!
States and locals would have to follow suit. Biggest problem to solve would be who pays for what--federal, state, or local.
I suggest that Defense, transportation, state department, interstate highways, national infrastructure, environment, and other multi-state projects be federal---rest local.

In reference to your "one simple card" approach I believed that has already been acknowledged:

One simple tax form

It was a careless mistake there should not be decimal point.
