This next council meeting should be packed. If we, the citizens of PTC, want to make a statement to the Mayor and Council about this Kohls debacle, then it should be standing room only. You folks that live in Planterra should be letting all your neighbors know to be there and make your voices heard. Turn it down. This newsletter that came out last week was a joke. Boy did Logdson sucker us. Vote this down Mr. Mayor and Council or it will probably be the last election you ever win around these parts. The people have spoken clearly to you for sometime now. It is time to listen! We do not need a Kohls in PTC. Don't sell us out!!!!!!!

This is a perfect example of why being flexible on the comprehensive plan will not work. We continue to look at projects that are not within the scope of the plan.

There would be no abandonment issues if the Comprehesive Plan were backed by ordinances.

If we remain flexible, we will continue to see Kohl's type projects in the future. Placing ordinances behind the Comprehensive plan will not allow this to occur.

The people do not want this program. No land abandonment, no Big Box period. City Council - do you hear us?

Show up at the Thursday meeting and express your feelings. Tell the City Council no on this proposal.

Why should we citizens worry that the Planning Commission and the Council may approve something every time a new proposal comes forward? End it with a moratorium to produce the ordinances that mandate following the Comprehensive Plan.

Come out on December 6th and vote the second voice who wants to put "teeth" into the ordinances and make the Comprehensive Plan law.

Thanks and Vote!

Residents, I have said NO all along, please contact Council, not just one , but all of them as I have done. Going against the desires of 75% of our city is another step in the wrong direction.
The article our Mayor posted in this week's Newsletter gave us a warning of what was to come, and as I stated in my blog the other day,"he still doesn't get it." Please make your voices heard because in January when the new Council is seated, it will not pass. Both myself and my opponent have voiced opposition to Kohls and I know that my word is good.

In my opinion. I can't for the life of me see why they would support this plan that they are throwing out there with Kohls. With their support, I could see the Council under pressure to approve it. IT IS NOT in the best interest of PTC as a whole, in my humble opinion. The West Villge is being turned into Newnan East.

Steve Brown, you live in Planterra, straighten them out. I know you've spoke against this, maybe you can convince them to be against it too.

Mayor Logsdon's Update piece was sprinlked with half-truths and outright lies. People are asking me why the mayor is moving in the direction he is an I cannot come up with a logical explanation. There is no doubt he is courting local developers for reasons known only to the mayor and those developers.

As to Planterra Ridge, I can assure you that most of the homeowners are opposed to the big box plan. Our homeowners association president, a very nice guy with good intentions, gave into the "bluff" of the developer. There has never been a poll taken of our homeowners.

Mike Harman has stated he will not support the sale of city property or the Kohl's store. This coming vote will be his test of character, or he just might prove the voters right.

I am a taxpayer in PTC. Therefore, I own part of the roads for sale on the west side!
I want to be able to bid on those roads when they sell!
It is possible that I could either rent them out, or sell them myself for a neat profit.

No kohls.....

Dawg,

The residents I have talked with in Planterra are not for this development. When I talk with them in the streets or at gatherings, they are clear that they do not want Kohl's.

We need to stop this road abandonment NOW. It is not in the best interest of the city.

Thanks,
Doug Sturbaum

Who started that stupid rumor anyway?
Who would want a concrete traffic mess at your sub-division entrance?
When that is completed, and I'm afraid it will be, I don't even want to go towards Newnan anymore, much less through that horror.

Submitted by Doug Sturbaum on Sun, 11/11/2007 - 12:49pm.

No one wants a Kohl's entrance at the Planterra entry. Traffic will logjam even more.

Check the legal angle on this. I think it is illegal for a municipality in Georgia to peform a land swap as has been proposed. I think that it is required, that a public bidding process take place to dispose of property or to sell property such as this. I believe that this property would have to be advertised and sold through a public bid process after being declared as surplus property. I think that it is illegal for muni's to swap properties as if this were some wife swapping reality show.

But, like I said. I think. And I think once that I thought wrong, but when I think about it, my thinker tells me to think otherwise. Puzzled

Just a thought my friend.

We don't want to kill the KOHLS---we just don't want anymore on the west side---I don't care who owns the land!!!!!!
Put in a pawn shop, a hooters, a nail saloon, a title shop, a sub-prime loan shop (oops one is across the road), and of course a Waffle House, instead.
They all wouldn't need the parking required by KOHLS!

Put KOHLS down by the TDK extension--it will happen soon.
Another good place for KOHLS would be at the Lutheran Church site!

So harman really was helping out is his scumball developer mcBULLY.(and himself) harman is exactly what we all saw him for to begin with typical politician scum!(another harold) Glad my instincts are still in great form.

Hello councilFOOLS why don't you give mcBULLY our "white elephant" tennis center along with it's huge debt??! He can fit his cheap, shoddy big box inside and take over the illegal loan as well. That would be win win for everyone in PTC. Oh wait, because it would be good for the taxpayers, that is exactly why harold and fools won't do it.

He lost the election, "LOSER" and he will vote in favor of the Kohl's, "LOSER" again.

Tell everyone you know to be at the meeting and write the Mayor and his sidekick that we're not going to take it anymore!

And to think the folks in Tyrone thought they had problems with their council before the election.

I think he will probably vote for it to get revenge. That was the plan all along. Why is mcBully re-submitting this so quickly?? This was the plan all along.

What does harolds drinking buddy king have in store for us?? Probably more of the same.

Thursday be at the councilFOOLS meeting

Dec 4th be at the polls lets send the drunk over-developer crowd packing.
