Reason why Mike Smola thinks we should elect him!

suggarfoot's picture

PER HIS WEB SITE
1. 'He studies laws and ordinances that affect our citizens' -by supporting Ord.#454 to take uses from the businesses.

2.'He judges ice cream eating contest at Founders Day' - which might be the best job for him! Maybe he can also be the bunny at Easter!

3. 'It is his honor to serve citizens'- by ignoring and humiliating them at council meetings.

4. 'The ability to translate vision into results.' 1/2 acres lots in Rivercrest, zoning it for duplexes will be quite a vision!

5. Yea, a part-time Mayor will allow Barry to continue as always,as a full time despot! and we KNOW you can't be anything but a PART TIME MAYOR...cause you got a FULL TIME JOB!

6. Smola sure wants to silence voices of elected officials and citizens cause the cemetery got damaged on "HIS WATCH".

7. Let's get this straight: Mike you installed a fountain in Shamrock Park....Where is it?
The one that is there was purchased with BOW sales and DONATION from Citizens and Businesses! You complained about the cost of electricity to run it and mostly because because the TOWN'S electrical box was out of code.

SHAME ON YOU FOR TAKING CREDIT.. the citizens AKA the Voters know who contributed time and money when the TOWN OFFICIALS WOULD NOT.

8. 'He says he doesn't support high density'- just votes for 8-houses on one acre across from Shamrock Park!

Did Smola made the following statements?

Installed a fountain at Shamrock Park - True
The fountain was purchased by citizens and Smola had nothing to do with it. He actually complained about how much electricity would be required to run it.

Installed new roof on picnic shelter at Shamrock Park - True
I never witnessed Smola install the roof. The expenditure was made because the county gave the town $18,000.

Does not support high-density development - True
He supported 8 homes per-acre in downtown. You can speak from both sides of your ....

Does not, or never has, supported the abolishment of Shamrock Park - True
This one is a complete lie. He attempted to "abolish" the park by asking the county to lift the deed restriction so a municipal complex could be built - library, town hall, and police station.

Smola's comments are not true. I can not support someone who takes credit for others work. Mr. Rehwaldt spoke the truth about his religious beliefs. Regardless of my personal religious belief, I will always support someone who states the truth. I may not like it but I have to give respect where its due. Smola will never have my respect.

I completely agree with you about the truthfulness issue. What I believe is mine and I would never have the audacity to impose my spiritual beliefs on you. That is called religious intolerance and this creates religious extremism and that is.....Osama Bin Laden - a religious extremist.

2 Timothy 3:16 states:
"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, [and] for instruction in righteousness." (KJV)

He is all that your are saying but so are the two women there,( Gloria is a puppet for Gracie) and they both are the Tyrone Neighborhood Alliance puppets ( we all know that. What will change if Tracy Young, Gorden Schenkle and Don get in? Same old tired story. The only decent guy there is Paul and he has had enough. Eric Dial and Mike Smola ( Janet) are tied at the hip from the school board arena. So nothing will change if he is elected!!

You actually think Paul L. cares about Tyrone? You have lost your mind. He could give a crap! If he cares so much why doesnt he research the issues? All I ever see him do is sit back in his chair and role his eyes at everyone. I think he should resign due to lack of interest.

Based on your summary, it sound like you are going to vote for Jessie and Ken. Good luck with that.

Better yet, why didnt you sign up to run for office? Seems like you think you can make the changes in our government.

I always wondered when he rolled his eyes what he was trying to convey to his constituents. Did he want us to think whomever was speaking was ignorant? unworthy of his time? crazy? I hope whoever wins the election will have read this and realize if a citizen wants to stand up and speak their mind they have the right to do so without being mocked or chastised by you, even when you disagree. If you can't understand this then please don't run for this office.
