Redevelopment and Annexation!

The Citizen News is having a hard time just getting all of the subject news published with their twice-weekly editions.
I have nothing against proper development of homes and businesses in PTC, but I am getting fed up with it showing up only when we start to vote upon it!
Nobody can tell me that we don't have at least one person in our town government who doesn't know what is going on in this area long before it happens.
The citizens have a right to have time to express their wishes on such things, and we simply aren't given the time to do so.
It seems the "master plan" for PTC is not a wonderful little golf-cart community with no boxes and no unwanted development any more.
There is plenty of room in other parts of Fayette County for home and industry development, which in itself would keep too much retail out of PTC.
Come on folks, let us find and elect some people who aren't interested in such deceiving, and who will tell us future plans---now!!! We graduated 6th grade.

We graduated 6th grade.

He [Jethro Clampett] was particularly proud of his education: he spent 12 years at school — before passing the sixth grade.

Do speak for yourself, $, and don't use "we." Some of us have progressed past that point. Eye-wink

There are people running for office that will answer your questions and tell you what is on the agenda. I will do both those items.

With that said, the comprehensive plan needs updating and must tie into the budget and the land use plan. I plan to work on an overall strategic PTC land layout plan. Developers need to know that what is to be built in PTC is what the citizens want and what makes sense to the community in revenue creation and value added services.

Whomever you vote for, challenge them on the above issues: communication and long term strategic planning. Make them accountable.

We regular working stiffs that live in PTC don't get invited to the card games where the real decisions are made.

It's not just PTC, but everywhere.

The land owners or those that have the monetary resources to develop the land have always been the winners.

Little people get little votes.

Developers have known for a long time that they can come here and tinkle on the citizens because we as a group wont challenge them in court.

When was the last time there was a 'standing room only' crowd at a city council meeting? Developers know that as long as there isn't a Goodwill store in their plans nobody shows.

Looks like that original 85,000 population figure won't be very difficult to reach what with turning each group of 3 properties into 46. Maybe 185,000 is within reach.
