TV advertising!

Irrational or untrue ads now dominate the sponsorship of TV shows. It has become awful.
I'm not talking about the after 10, R and X show ads, where they sell enhancers, vibrators, phone sex, etc., but daytime and early evening ads.
A few examples:
Some kind of life insurance for .25 cents per day per unit, with exceptions and exclusions. What is a "unit?"
Home loans (still) with no fuss, no closing cost---none, where you get more cash because of no costs. No interest rate is mentioned! I hope they aren't using any of my money for those loans either.
An AARP insurance card to go along with your Medicare card--you simply must have the AARP card, and the Insurance card, with AARP printed on it! Whatever the insurance is, it isn't AARP! They simply get a commission. Also if Medicare pays half of a bill, they pay 20% of half--which is 10% if you do the math. Shame.
Tax bill elimination--garnishment elimination, cut your tax bill by up to 80%! If you are behind and owe a lot. This is a loan company who settles with the government and puts you on 120 payments of the entire bill! At untold interest!
Eat all you want pills and lose that weight. Guaranteed or send the bottle back and get you money back (along with a doctor's statement).
Your real hair! You can comb it, wash it--it is your hair, beautiful girls go crazy.
Its your money--spend it now---sell us your structured settlement and we will give you your money now (about .30 cents on the dollar).
Short-term loans of up to $500 for a week or two (if you are a soldier). Interest has been reduced by the government from 390% to only 36%.

There are scores of others, some worse.
Did Reagan also get rid of the false ad people? It hurt business I suppose. There isn't room for Rx drug ads, nor "head-on" and all over the counter stuff here!

It's the rambling that suggest to me "he is who he is". Lets see if he starts answering his own blog if no one else comments.

What on earth did this "dollar" thing do to you people?
I have been harassed about that since I joined in here to try and inform!
Is this what you do when someone quotes facts that you hate to hear?
I think that may be illegal!
I don't have any interest in Spandex, bands of amateurs, eating places (easy to find one)---they are all sorry, ridin bikes, (kids stuff), pumpin up Westmoreland, who hates kids, non-worriers about our 9 (nine) Trillion dollar debt---especially when Bush started with 4 (four) Trillion excess, (doesn't count the trillion for the war yet either), and our two wonderful, magnificent Senators (1890s style).
I would like to meet this fellow, dollar, as it seems we may have a little in common--in the 21st century anyway.

"Westmoreland, who hates kids" -- How about explaining that?

Westmoreland has 3 children and 6 grandchildren, and he's an advocate for unborn children, those still in the womb.

Do you mean SCHIP, State Children’s Health Insurance Program, known in Georgia as PeachCare?

“The Democrats have converted a program intended to insure children from low-income families into a middle-class entitlement,” Westmoreland said. “They are drastically expanding a well-run and popular program for the neediest Americans into HillaryCare for Kids. For the left, this is a giant step toward their goal of government-run health care.

“This bill is pure political posturing,” Westmoreland said. “The Democratic leadership has known for months that President Bush was going to veto this bill. Now, we’re literally days away from this important program expiring (Sept. 30) and rather than pass a bill that will preserve current coverage, the Democrats have passed a bill puts the health coverage of 285,000 Georgia kids on PeachCare at risk in the short term. This bill is about scoring political points, not doing what’s best for children. One Democrat leader even said this week that a veto by President Bush ‘is a political victory for us.’

“Instead, up to 2 million kids that now have private insurance will be moved onto government rolls and taxpayers will pick up the tab.

Taxpayers will also now foot the bill for illegal immigrants who sign up for these benefits because Democrats have removed safeguards on proving citizenship.

“This SCHIP extension is the Democratic hat trick: tax hikes, huge spending and government-run health care."

I suppose you're for HillaryCare? What about her plan to give $5000 to every baby, costing taxpayers $20 billion plus a year? Don't worry; you can go to the link because it's at DAILY KOS. Laughing out loud

Are you a taxpayer, BTW? Are you a recipient of the subsidy EITC (Earned Income Tax Credit) or other such subsidies?

Hillary, the Nanny? -- What great incentive for more illegals to come here and more Americans to work even less!

"Look on the bright side."

"Just say NO!"

BTW, you do know that you can just not read posts that you "don't have any interest in," as well as not comment on them? You sound so much like $ when you complain like that! Laughing out loud

Submitted by thebeaver on Thu, 10/04/2007 - 11:44am.

Hillary is campaigning by promising our future income to illegal immigrants through either her communistic, socialistic, health cart or for the 5 grand promise to every new baby.

She is the most dangerous woman in the world, and will destroy our country in her lust for power.

What Bush is objecting to is the redefining of who gets aid from SCHIP aka Peachcare. Most states permit entry if your income is no more that 200% of the national poverty level.

The Democrat's proposal would redefine this entry level to about 62,000 of yearly income.
It's a typical vote buying scheme by leading Democrats.

The one fact that can't be debated is that Bush has increased funding for Peachcare type programs every year he has been in office.
