Warning: Not a local story: Kudos to the Bush Admin

AF A-10's picture

It's not often I get the opportunity to compliment our current political leadership, but they have done the necessary in accepting Alberto's resignation. Now is not the time and these are not the days for devicive individuals in the administration. I suspect that we will all begin to see much more conciliatory speech as our elected officials on both sides begin to work towards solutions to our many challenges. Alberto was the lightening rod in the midsts of a thunder storm that noone wanted or needed to stand near. I hope that our legislators begin to function as if they are on the same team now.

Cheers all,

Hack

I guess it would be pretty hard to "stomach". I was watching the news yesterday and it mentioned something about the obesity rates in the Southeast. So I posted the picture. I'll find another one. It kind of goes along with my tag line below.

Is that picture necessary? If that's you Bro, indeed you do need to get out there and start riding again.

Nah.... If I were the AG I'd be slashing a bunch of bedwetting, left wing, soft on crime, Clinton appointees. Then I'd have Hack doggin' my butt all the time.

I still can't figure out why it was OK for Clinton to get rid of all those Bush I and Reagan appointees yet it has become a mortal sin for Bush II to do the same. Puzzled

it wasn't the firings. It was lying about the firings. It was going to Ashcroft's hospital bed when he was not acting as AG and then lying about it. It was about being the lead law upholder in the Nation and telling the Judiciary comittee over and over, "I can't recall." This man was utterly incapable of leading the justice department. And it had so much more to do with his answers to questions than his political actions as AG. And, personally, I will always hold him in contempt for having the nerve to call the Genoeva convention protections of combatants, "quaint." Easy to say when you aren't at the end of the enemy's weapons.

So it's about lying. And I thought it was about trying to discredit and take down Bush. Shocked Well...if it's ONLY about lying then what's the big deal? Are you telling me it's ok for your side to lie but not my former side? Eye-wink

You like it? I picked it out myself without help!!! I sure hope "valleygirl" approves of it. In the aviation field my avatar would be called "OG" or over-grossed. Spandex would come via "Omar Tent Fashions".

hutch,

How's the back?

Thanks for asking, it's much better now, although bending over my water meter for about an hour Saturday afternoon fixing the water leak that tripled my water bill this month did not help it much.Cy, over-grossed is such a under statement.

"President Bush, Gonzales' most dogged defender, told reporters he had accepted the resignation reluctantly. "His good name was dragged through the mud for political reasons," Bush said."

Looks like our "decider" is as out of touch as ever. I doubt the Republicans asking for Alberto Gonzales' resignation were doing so for political reasons. They were probably defending the integrity of the legal system. Wow is this guy out of touch! Gonzales' name was dragged through the mud because he decided to lie before the Senate. And they did not appreciate that. LEss than two more years, and I'm sure counting. Any republican or democrat will, with this example, surely be a better leader.
