For Ken Matthews' Information

The days are gone when a Tyrone candidates' platform consists of general statements to do a good job. Voters want to know specifically what their solutions are? If officials don't know there are serious problems, then that's good enough reason for voters to reject the candidate. If Mr. Matthews did investigate all proposed ordinances, then why is there no written reports by the commission on public record as required in O.C.G.A. 36-67-3,4. I don't ask you to believe me. Read it for yourself. Regarding Mr. Matthews' advice that if the council ignores a complaint that a person should just go to court. Let's pretend that Mr. Matthews is losing a lot of money because the town has done something to harm him and his elected representatives don't pay any attention to his complaint. Would Mr. Matthews like to to pay a lawyer 10's of thousands of dollars to try to correct a problem that his officials could have done as part of their job. Would he want to continue to pay taxes for their income when his income is being taken. And Why do we even need elected representatives if everyone must pay for a lawyer to protect their rights. Why do we need a town attorney? Can't he make some proper legal decisions? No. Because the town lawyer is representing the government and not the citizens who pay him. Of course, Mr. Matthews doesn't know about a special taxing district for downtown. That's because its a well kept secret and will never be mentioned until its too late. That's part of the conspiracy as was ordinance 454. Read O.C.G.A. 36-44-8 about the redevelopment district taxing powers. Thanks Tonto for exposing Mr. Matthews. Vote for Tracy Young. His platform is just the opposite, but he will speak for himself.

Myself included, I think the people of Tyrone are very concerned about any candidates for Town Council and Mayor that support Barry Amos. Therefore, I challenge all candidates who decide to run for office in Tyrone to address this concern first. If you support Barry Amos, then you do not support the citizens of Tyrone. With the benefit of doubt being given its proper consideration, politicians are not known for telling the truth. When people complaint about their government, almost always, they are told to address their concerns via the democratic process, get out there and vote. The problem with this ideal is that the people who decide to get involved in politics become politicians, who usually cannot be trusted to tell the truth. Residents of Tyrone: Research the candidates, encourage your friends and family to vote (voting turnouts are always pitiful which gives politicians more opportunity to shmooze their way into office and then never live up to their campaign promises; and yes, I am referring particularly to Sheryl Lee), and last but not least, do not vote for anyone who supports Barry Amos.

Remember Ronnie Chance? Where in the world is he?

Valerie,

That is an excellent question. I have written him on more than one occasion, most recently a week ago. He never seems to find time to reply.

Ronnie, are you still there?

Dana Kinser, you are not the only one who has written Ronnie Chance and been ignored. Many people who supported Ronnie have been dropped. I wrote him twice, but no response. I even gave money and time for his first campaign. Ronnie's problem is, he just wants to be in big time politics. Its his life. Before Ronnie ran for office, he was a political consultant, going all over the State advising local candidates how to get elected. Ronnie and Eric Dial are long time friends. Now he's advising Eric on how to get elected. If Dial gets elected, he had a good teacher on how to forget about who put him there. Ronnie's hobnobbing with Rudy G. from N.Y. for President. Eric will be right on Ronnie's coat tails. Tyrone is just small potatoes for these two. Vote for Tracy Young & Gordon Shenkle for Council in Tyrone.

I just wanted to add a note about Eric Dial. He was Ronnie Chance's campaign manager when Ronnie ran for Georgia legislature. Just what we don't need - More unrepresentative government.

And, just for those who keep saying "you better be able to prove" anything you say about Barry Amos: the proof is self-evident, but there is proof, the trouble is getting anyone to follow up on it. There is enough evidence to at the very least support a formal investigation of Amos. Thanks for asking though.

Who has seen Ronnie or Eric at Tyrone public meetings? Planning meetings or council? I have never seen them at meetings and I have been going for years. I think they care about themselves more than Tyrone.

The other thing, what legislation has Ronnie supported since being elected? Oh yes, the one were government employees could say the word Christmas without fear.

Anyone who runs un-opposed for any elected office gives nothing back to the community. (ie, chance, smola, and letourneaux)

Agreed....Ronnie Chance is another Lynn Westmoreland. Join the big church; get face time; do nothing; just vote the way Sonny tells you. In one of Ronnie Chance's rare public sitings since being elected he was asked about the traffic problem at a meeting. He said he was doing everything in his power to focus on the Hwy 74/I-85 interchange. Right then a DOT rep stood up and said that there are no plans to do anything on the interchange until 2025. Ronnie, wouldn't you have looked less stupid by just sitting there? Now that it is painfully obvious that these guys from Karl Rove on down have "used Jesus as a precinct captain" and kept a blind eye to known perverts like Larry Craig and Mark Foley and known dolts like Westmoreland, it ain't looking real promising for the GOP in next year's election. In my lifetime there have been 9 Presidents, 6 GOP. The two best were Republicans but the two most corrupt were also Republican. Looks like we will probably run a really stupid ticket like Giuliani-Perdue and get beaten like a yard dog by Hitlary-Obama. Thanks guys for the totally empty suits like Ronnie and Lynn.

Neither Eric or Ronnie have ever produced anything tangible or productive in their working lives. Both of these guys are merely "empty suits" that make their livings skimming off of the contributions that concerned citizens give to try to make a difference in their government. Mostly wasted monies as I've since discovered.

I heard a candidate explain to me several years back how useless Ronnie was as a campaign consultant. He paid Ronnie several thousand dollars and received a list of "objectives that needed to be accomplished". Basically, the guy was told that he needed to put some ads in the papers and order campaign signs along with a multitude of other useless information. He said the information was as useful as a 50 year old man paying for a consultant and the consultant instructed him on how to wipe his rump after going to the bathroom. I believe the guy already knew that. Puzzled Other than a couple of pitiful lists, that was all Ronnie contributed to this poor souls campaign. Essentially, Ronnie took the money and ran while bragging about what a great job he did in this guy's run for office. I suppose that proved he definitely has the qualifications to be an elected official.

These characters have no idea how us producers build wealth and employ hard working folks. When you look at Ronnie and Eric you are seeing a couple of future political hacks that will be as effective as their mentor Lynn Wastemoreland.

Now, other than that, both Ronnie and Eric are really nice guys. Smiling

Do you not think that there will be candidates who oppose current management? We dont even know all the candidates yet.

I dont think any one of them will say they are going to fire Barry.

Submitted by jondough on Sat, 09/01/2007 - 3:02pm.

If candidates are not willing to address the issue of Barry Amos then I will not vote for them. Barry Amos has caused all of the problems in Tyrone and I want him gone!! If you don't have the guts to stand up to Barry Amos the dictator of Tyrone then you can't run the town at all!! Barry Amos is a horrible manager. He cares about under the table deals with private investors and his own agenda. BARRY IS THE MOST HATED TOWN OFFICIAL EVER! Smola, congratulations, you are a close runner up, second most hated town official ever!!

Can you prove that Barry is making "under the table deals with private investors"? You better be able to back that up!

Hating someone doesnt give you enough reason to fire them.

Let the truth speak for itself.

Eye-wink Gotcha...didn't I? Eye-wink

Question though. Is Barry Amos related to Mike Amos of Group VI?
