Photos depicted 3-year-old witnessing sex act

Peachtree City police have secured arrest warrants of four people who were present when a 3-year-old girl was photographed observing sex acts at a Peachtree City home, police said.

One of the persons being arrested is the girl’s father, identified as Micah Burns, 34, of Michigan, police said.

All four persons are being charged with child molestation, including Burns and: Paul Graffeo, 39, of Shirewood, Peachtree City; Jody Graham, 43, of Pacers Walk, Peachtree City; and Lauren Barchi, 22, of Park View Lane, Alpharetta.

Graffeo and Graham have already been arrested and Barchi has agreed to turn herself in, while officers are working with Michigan law enforcement to arrest Burns, police said.

The investigation began with a tip police received Aug. 2 about sexually explicit photos that were taken at a home in Peachtree City, police said.

Just to think I live in PTC is scary to me...
this city is not like it used to be and it seems that
all the bad people moved here from other states or counties
even thought the police is doing a good job here to stop crime..
i still don't feel save here anymore, is there a better place with good schools? can anyone give me an opinion?

I have known Jody Graham for many years and while it's hard for me to believe she's been accused of this particular crime, I have no problem believing that she's been arrested for SOMETHING. This woman is unbelievable. Drugs, sexual promiscuity, credit card fraud, providing alcohol and drugs to minors, etc...My only surprise is that it's taken this long for PTC police to finally get her. I know her ex-husband and his wife who are raising Jody's 2 sons and a daughter that is not Mr. Graham's biological child, as well as Carole's two daughters. They have created a loving, supportive environment for these 5 children and under the circumstances have done a phenomonal job. The important thing to note about this is that the 2 boys and the Jody's oldest daughter chose to live with with father and step-mother when they were well below the age of making such a decision - such were the circumstances they were living with. My prayers go out to the children and to Mr. and Mrs. Graham. I only imagine the nightmare that their lives have become.

All of you lunatics out there who have nothing better to do than sit around And blog all day on this, listen up....... I know all of them. And no there not the most outstanding citizens but Actually Jody use to be my Homeschool teacher, She was a complete nut then (4-5 yrs ago) and still is now, but I can assure you shes not a "child molester" - you must understand I do not like her at all ( I actually hate her) But as I read these comments everyone is so quick to judge, Where all of you there? Do you actually Know what took place? If she really is guilty, then she deserves to be locked down for a VERY VERY long time- But who knows the truth but them? So quit acting like you know, because you dont, and let the courts bring out the truth. And for all of you out there commenting on Barchi's personal life, you all should be ashamed. Your suppose to be grown up's -- ACT LIKE IT.

Submitted by shadow on Sat, 08/18/2007 - 8:08am.

So, you weren't there either, right? How can you "assure" me that this person isn't a child molester? I see what you're saying, you qualify your remarks with your knowledge of at least one of these individuals....however, you weren't there and don't know just what this "person" would or would not do.
Your remark "But who knows the truth but them?", is so true. Just remember, there are 3 sides to the "truth", the defendant(s), the plantiff(s), and the actual event. Somewhere in that you just might, get the "truth".
You're actually judging the "lunatics" by stating that they sit around and blog all day, well, you don't know their circumstances either. Maybe they are retired and this is their hobby, better than drinkin' and carousing while a 3 year old watches, isn't it?
As for me, I'm going to withhold judgement until it is all over. That is the "grown-up way to do it.

To begin, Jody clearly did a fine job with your education, considering that you cannot differentiate between they're and there or where and were.

As for your assertions pertaining to her innocence, I'm curious as to what evidence leads you to believe "shes not a 'child molester'"[sic]. Just because she showed you no signs of sexual deviance does not make her an innocent person. I wasn't there and I'm not judging her, but unless you were present, you are no more justified in your claims of her innocence than anyone else is in his judgments of guilt.

P.S. You only need capitol letters for the beginning of sentences and proper nouns and adding an apostrophe s to the end of a word makes it possessive, not plural. I realize this is nitpicking, but people will be much more likely to accept your point if it is stated in an intelligent, grammatically correct manner.

My goodness, if you are going to take the time to go online and post a comment to skewer the grammar and spelling skills of others, please consider taking the time to check your own--the last time I checked, "capitol" (as in letters) was spelled with an "a" not an "o"...big guy.

Submitted by mariahh on Fri, 08/17/2007 - 4:08pm.

alright first of all were her parents present in the picture? no. and second of all you have no evidence that she molested any child at all. this case taught me that you cant just listen to the news becuase the story changes. Im not saying that shes completly innocent but the child could have wondered into the picture. Lauren is a grown 22 year old, her parents have nothing at all to do with what happened; and i bet they already feel horrible enough having this case public, so consider what you say.

Submitted by shadow on Sat, 08/18/2007 - 8:11am.

WANDERED! Not "wondered"! I'm betting when the 3 year old "wandered" into the area where the action was, he/she "wondered" what the heck was going on!

Submitted by mariahh on Sat, 08/18/2007 - 9:21am.

alright i spelled a word wrong ..
um im not denying that what they did was right at all and i of course everyone’s first assumption would be that child molestation was taking place but theres no proof. The kid first of shouldnt have been present at a place like that where that was going on anyway. Sure, it was irresponsible as them as adults to be taking pictures and whatnot with a kid there, but what they do in there free time is up to them and theres NO proof that the child was molested. I think they should be charged for something but not that, thats a big deal. Theres so many other problems going on, it just seems like this case it just a filler because theres nothing else for the ptc police to solve.

That's unfair and unwarranted to attack them unless you can claim firsthand knowledge of their homelife. A child can have a stable and loving home and still turn down the wrong path for whatever reasons. It happens every day.

Perhaps you know Lauren and have had dealings with her since you seem to know so much about her and you want to seek revenge on her family. You are a sick individual. You think that you can do a google search and know a family but you have no idea the pain that her parents have faced and how hard they have tried to turn their baby daughter around. This incident is just a spit in their faces by Lauren and I hope that she is locked up for a long time, however you have no precedence to defame the character of {{{{{{{{EDITED}}}}}}}}}. You cannot blame {{{{{EDITED}}}}} for this, they have two {{{{{EDITED}}}}} that turned out perfectly normal, one older and one younger! The girl has been messed up for a long time, she's a former stripper and coke addict. She had a blessed upbringing in North Fayette, I lived right next to her and her family was completely normal. If anything she looked down on the other kids in the neighborhood cause she had it so good. I'm not surprised by this considering what I remember of her. I just feel bad for her parents and brothers since they didn't do anything to deserve this and the humiliation they must feel must be crazy. My prayers go out to them and the poor little girl she subjected.

You can't be serious - blaming the parents for the inappropriate behavior of their daughter! She is an adult! What a tragedy that she may not have benefited from a proper upbringing. Wake up! Parents are not the only influence on a child's behavior. Some here may not like this - but there is truth in the saying - it takes a village to raise a child. This young woman and her friends are disgusting if the charges are true. How despicable to publicly cast a cloud on the professional reputation of her parents. I hope they have friends and family who are standing beside them during this trying time.

Denise Conner's picture

"It takes a village to raise a child." -- Are you referring to Hillary Clinton's book It Takes a Village?

The word village is a euphemism for government, and the concept of the village raising a child is the socialists' dream. It's based on the idea that children should be raised, guided, and educated by an assortment of so-called "experts," including teachers, counselors, psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, judges, and daycare employees, who, of course, know so much more than parents. Puzzled

Actually, it is the family unit, rather than the federal government, that should make up the foundation of a society. This was the foundation of our country for its first 200 years.

I don't suppose that you've read Rick Santorum's It Takes a Family: Conservatism and the Common Good? Smiling

Maybe you meant, "It takes a church," such as Greater Exodus Baptist Church in Philadelphia and its ministries, People for People Charter School and People for People's EARN - Employment Advancement Retention Network, Youth Mentoring Program, and other ministries?

"PFP has helped low-income individuals leave behind their dependency upon welfare and substance abuse by providing education, job training, computer skills training, program certification and counseling. In addition, PFP has been dedicated to educating the upcoming generation of children here as well as assisting orphans and vulnerable children affected by and infected by AIDS in sub-Saharan Africa."

"Currently, the church provides food to 1,000 families annually, oversees substance abuse counseling, runs a ministry for people in prison, and operates a mentoring program for children of incarcerated parent(s)."

The pastor of Greater Exodus Baptist Church is Herbert H. Lusk II, former professional football player for the Philadelphia Eagles who was known as the "Praying Tail Back" because of his customary kneeling and praying in the end zone after each touchdown.

Citing the harsh criticism he has faced from liberals and other black leaders, Lusk said: "I've been called a sellout. I've been called an Uncle Tom, and the New York Times called me a maverick in the black church." Lusk said he welcomed being called a maverick if it means supporting "the original intent of God Almighty" in opposition to abortion and the "redefinition of marriage. . . . Brothers and sisters, we will not go down without a fight."

Lusk warned adversaries: "My friends, don't fool with the church because the church has buried a million critics. And those the church has not buried, the church has made funeral arrangement for."

Or maybe you meant, "It takes organizations like faith-based Urban Family Council, which 'exists to build healthy families by providing education about, and advocating for, life, marriage and family'"?

Building Healthy Families Youth & Family Development Educational Program emphasizes character, abstinence, youth development and leadership training, and parent education. Smiling

Submitted by Davids mom on Fri, 08/17/2007 - 11:26am.

$'s concept is more in tune with mine. The village that raised me included first and foremost my parents - then my extended family (aunts, uncles, cousins); neighbors on my street; teachers; members of my church; friends of my parents.

I truly am blessed that I never had to personally deal with abortion. I'm tired of people acting as if it is something that should be governed by politicians - most of whom are men. Let's also outlaw vasectomies. The creation of another human being is between the individual and God. Many believe that a human, made in the image and likeness of God is not a combination of genes, skin, and bones. (I'm not going to get into that discussion) I wish that those who are against the ‘murder’ of children by the method of abortion would be just as involved in finding homes for unwanted children who are being taken care of by the state until they are 18.

I don't feel that my interpretation of 'village' includes all of the above government agencies that you refer to. My family and community used the concept of 'village' long before Hillary Clinton wrote her book. Thanks for sharing your interpretation. I am for state intervention in a young child's life ONLY when his family and community have failed.

It takes concerned, actively involved parents to raise a child. Not a bunch of “if that were my child” types.

If you can’t take the time and dedicate the resources to raise children to be respectful, highly educated individuals, then DON’T.

Sounds like we were raised in the same village. Unfortunately, today's neighbors, teachers, etc. are not the same as they were when we grew up. So sad.

Submitted by Davids mom on Fri, 08/17/2007 - 12:38pm.

The reason we chose Fayetteville is because it was almost as caring as the village that raised me. I see the young mothers at the bus stop talking to one another; the neighborly interest in the care of my 96 year old mother (most of them anyway); the confidence and pride that the community has in the schools - Kedron, Whitewater (and the middle school); and the support from my blood family members and my adopted family members. (who come with all shades of colors and accents). However I know that all communities are not like this one. People are afraid to speak to or correct a neighbor’s child today; there are children who have not been taught to respect and cherish their elders - and this is destructive to the village as we knew it. I agree - it is sad.

Submitted by dollaradayandfound on Fri, 08/17/2007 - 8:04am.

No, no. A "village" is just that.
We all help take care of and supervise small children so that they grow up with manners and principles.
Neighbors, retail employees, etc.
Right now if anyone attempts to correct a foul kid, the parents go haywire!!
Not all adults are "whooping" school principals, or head slapping idiots!
And would be less if given a chance, and punished if they handled it incorrectly.
I have seen this sort of behaviour in person. (kid destroying something, parent saying nothing, another adult tries to help by picking up kid.......gets blasted by parent, etc.)

Lauren was also arrested several times for drug possession in Fayette County and working as a stripper in Atlanta, while living in her parents White Water Home! Would you allow your child to continue misbehaving as an ADULT in your own home? Maybe you and her should be tied up in strait jackets and sent to Milledgeville... She does not deserve family or friend support, but rather public humiliation to make an example for all the other pedophiles!

It sounds like her parents tried everything they could to help her turn her life around like most parents would. She deserves everything she is going to get by what purpose would it serve to humiliate the parents. I was in high school in the early to mid 70's and I saw people with perfectly normal parents become the scum of the earth because of drugs and alcohol, you can't blame that on the parents and it's not your place to decide what support the parents give her.

Half the people in PTC, and elsewhere, see movies with just such film.
They don't always show the kids but they have to be somewhere!
If it isn't R or X. people won't see it!

Fayette County has no crime...it must must be that a Clayton Countian breathed on someone over there.

You won't find many here justifying any crime, even if it's committed by locals. We are, however, rightly concerned about the thugs from other counties (Clayton is a main offender) coming here to terrorize us and maybe kill us. We have enough local criminals to do the job; we don't need "help."

I don't care where a criminal resides; I want him to have a new address: prison.

That's a mild word for them. I hope they put this bunch under the jail.

I pray that a loving family has custody of this little girl tonight.
Bless her little heart. I hope as she gets older she will forget this, but I don't know. When you see foster children you just don't know what they have been through.
If you pray, pray for this child.

of describing the judgements that await those who spend their lives here exploiting and victimizing the innocent. I just don't get it. I don't understand where the human mind goes astray and produces such twisted actions. I do know that child predators and exploitation are among the most uncurable of all pathological behaviors. Hopefully the "system" will protect us from these individuals further.

Hack, the “system” has given us tools such that we can protect ourselves.

You just need to know how to use them.

Ball peen hammer, Vegas style
Chain saw, Columbian style
Hickory stick, East coast US style
Knee-capping, Applicable in most of the US
Low/High speed drill with 1/4” spade bit, Mostly US and South America
(low speed just takes longer)
Cloths Iron, w/steam, South America
Car battery and some wire, Anywhere
Boyfriend, Any Federal prison
Prison, Any country when it comes to child molesters. (there is a credo for such scum)
Open flame source, Anywhere
Bate for shark fishing, Works well off the cost of Florida

…the list just keeps going and going.

Hopefully is a weak work.
Apparently there are hundreds of thousands of these creeps in the USA, and of course elsewhere.
We simply don't recognize them very early in life and treat them or dispose of them by institutionalizing them early in life. Another thing Reagan did for us: close all of the mental institutions supported by the government. Pills might work if they took them, they didn't.
Now that is doing something positive about it! Lets do it.

Okay Scooter. No more Mr. Softy. Poo or git off the pot. Our community demands the severest punishment possible for this heinous crime. Don't you dare cut any these pieces of human debris a bit of slack regardless of who they are or how much their mommy contributed to your campaign. Our eyes are on you now.... balls in your court. It's never too late to change your trial lawyer actin' ways. Git tough or git the hell out the way and let the rest of us at em'..

PTC POLICE..... I don't know who tipped you or what, but my hats off to you for catching these predators. If you need some help going after Burns you let me know. I'll pay the gas, drive, and provide the firearms and the rope. I know a few others on here that will be glad to assist. Problem would be that I'm not certain Burns would make it back here alive. And the problem with that would be???

God bless that innocent child. May he protect her and provide her with a future free from any further influences such as this.

GGGGGGRRRRRRRRrrrrrrr......

Funny thing though....if this 3 year old child were a dog or cat there would already be 50 posts expressing outrage toward these debris pile.

Punishment with "the sisters"??? Think about it. If you're a sick sexual child predator that enjoys sexual acts with small children wouldn't you think that getting locked up with "the sisters" would be a dream for these pieces of you-know-what?

I want to see Judge Edwards yell out "Balif....Off With Their Pee Pees". I want to make them targets for A-10's. I don't want them to reach sexual gratification in prison. I want them to suffer and to suffer severely.

Don't reward them with girlfriends and boyfriends in jail.

Can anyone give me a good reason why this is not a capital crime?? These people will never amount to anything and they can't be cured....so what(??), the taxpayers are supposed to pay to feed them??

That stinks.

Scotty you better not let these idiots off. Give them the maximum sentence. That is what used to make Fayette County great. We were almost always free of crime, because the scumballs knew they would get the maximum sentence here, even for a first time offense. Save your thumb-sucking for your own time.

Is that a rendezvous in the shower with Bubba would probably delight these rotten carcasses. Each one of these predators need their sex organs forcibly removed and then brand them each on the forehead with a hot iron to mark them in some way as to identify their evil deeds and tendencies.

I differ with you. Nightly romps in the shower with their bunkmates would delight and reward them for their evil deeds.

where you stand on the punishment of criminals!

"An eye for an eye" applies here.

You have to wonder how many other children have been violated and no one's around to stop it.

And then attorneys and/or judges get the perverts off or with very little punishment. Very sad.

Submitted by dollaradayandfound on Tue, 08/14/2007 - 8:29am.

Why "wonder?"
It is happening! Build more mental hospitals!

Git Real's picture

Whatever happened to that line of thinking. Years ago the women were honored and even the bad guys looked after the children. These days it seems like children were created for the sexual predators to use as sex toys. Use them and cast them aside.

I'm sorry. What is happening to our world? Where is the outrage in regards to how our little people are being victimized so perverts can act out their "personal freedoms" and "morally corrupt desires".

Shave a cat and paint it and you'll make the Channel 2 News while creating outrage across the state. Molest a 3 year old child and you get nothing form Monica and Company.

There should be a rage coming from our community that needs to be unleashed against these useless human reject predators. If anyone victimizes one of my children Git Real will be outed with a bloody vengeance.

Where's the outrage? What do we do? We mutter to our friends "what an awful thing....can you imagine... a 3 year old". Then we put that inconvenient and uncomfortable piece of news out of our minds and get back to important issues. Like sipping on a Star Bucks and trying to figure out what's happening between Federline and Brittney Spears.

Next...some chump like Dollar comes on and criticizes me for my outrage against those who destroy innocent lives implying that I'm some kind of terrorist torture fanatic.

Hell, even an Islamist has the nerve to hack the head off of a child molestor. We're afraid to lock 'em up in jail.

Phew.... I feel better.

What world did you live in when we didn't touch the women and children?
They have many more rights and protections now (and need more) than ever!
Women have been sold as sex slaves, couldn't vote, had no say in whom they married, couldn't get a job, weren't educated, and rapes were covered up routinely---especially by family.
You are dreaming of what some preacher said!

We're reaping the results of pornography and abortion and rebelling against God. If people can look the other way while children are being ripped apart in the womb, then why would they care what's done to them after they're born. There's a growing number of people fighting for the normalizing and legalization of "adult-child" sex, i.e., legalizing pedophilia. Academia gives credence to this idea, just like giving a top university position at Princeton (originally founded to train Presbyterian ministers) to "ethicist" Peter Singer who supports bestiality and post-birth abortion.

See The Marketing of Evil by David Kupelian (review at World Net Daily) and The New Thought Police, The Death of Right and Wrong, & The New American Revolution by Tammy Bruce (all available at the library) for more info.

Once men gave up their lives to protect women and children (the sinking of the Titanic comes to mind). I don't think that they could have imagined how far America has fallen, or how much worse it will probably become.

Submitted by dollaradayandfound on Tue, 08/14/2007 - 8:07am.

You are ignoring the Titanic facts!
Those passengers in "steerage" were the last to get off, and many did not.
They weren't even told early.
However the extremely rich dudes on top were personally escorted to boats. They paid more for their passage.

Read my comment on Reagan's mental hospitals, please, It is fact for many kinds of perversion and short-circuited brains some people have. Why do you think our prisons are such barbaric places? we mix
the misdemeanors, the felony convictions with the brain sick. White collar is another country club.
We do all this out of fear, not sympathy, due to cost to us.
