Bridge over Kedron Lake
This bridge is on the list of "deficient" bridges, I think.
Maybe we should cut some oak or hickory poles out of the woods and set them into the mud real deep under it until the government gets around to fixing it!
I spect we won't though.
You know infrastructure management is somewhat like mine safety and soldiers getting wounded and killed.
It is looked at from the standpoint of just what percentage of the whole are these problems occurring.
If one divides the deaths by the numbers of cars and trucks passing over a bridge, the chance of getting killed is very, very slim. Why spend much money, just revise the inspections!
As to mine disasters, the same is true. If one divides the number of deaths by the tons of coal produced, it is very, very small. Keep inspecting and writing hundreds of safety reports, but keep the government out of business.
Now the Army in Iraq is nearing 100,000 civilian deaths, 4000 of our soldiers killed, and about 30,000 maimed and wounded and sent to Walter Reeds ignore house. If you divide.........never mind!
