Tiny terrorist, with red toenail polish.

Well, John Wayne, you may keep whatever I wrote for whatever purpose floats your little boat. I think you will be hardpressed to find a terroristic threat in anything I said, unless the thought of people knowing what your fetish is all about makes you wet the bed again. If me inviting you to approach me in public and say the same things you say to these folks is a threat, then that's what I'd call a personal problem. I was brought up a proper lady and am not inclined to bloody noses gratuitously in street brawls. It's just that if you want to play mind games with me you are most likely bringing a knife to a gun fight. (Read that carefully; in English it's called a METAPHOR.) Google it. What you lot do is creepy--tearing people's reputations apart for lack of a real life. It ranks right up there with blackmail as a classy pastime.

Someone used the phrase "no dog in the fight". My dog is the one that hates these silly little dancing-around-libel nothing-better-to-do secret societies. In that context I might point out that I am not a public figure and libel might well apply. Risky stuff, that, for someone who can't even identify a terroristic threat.

If you don't like Scott, then get behind somebody else. Run an honest campaign. Or, get involved with a lazy treacherous weasel if you so choose, but ranting behind your preposterous clear out Dodge City persona accomplishes nothing but making you look REALLLLLLLY stupid. This is America, corny as it sounds, and you're entitled to your opinion. You are not entitled to use newspapers to spread disinformation and less politely, lies. If I were the newspaper I would carefully consider my position in giving you such a forum.

If you actually read the newspapers so many of your burning issues would have been resolved already, or you could write intelligent letters to the editor to which you could sign your name. I would sincerely wish you luck there. Dialogue is something that is ALWAYS good in a community. For that matter, to my knowledge, which is not great because I stay out of the way, the DA's office loves good suggestions from the public. We all want to live in the best place possible and it's our job to keep it that way. Corny again, but that's what America is for. People are getting shot for that ideal and you are messing about with a blog.

Fortunately every single day I am out and about in Fayette County I think to myself how very nice most people are. I am continually amazed at what some people accomplish. Why don't you try that? I don't really want anything other than to get along with all my neighbors--too bad you don't. You can learn something from everybody, and vice versa, but not from a poison pen. (Now wasn't that a quaint phrase? I believe it once had cachet akin to blackmail.)

Joy Ballard, famous terrorist of Fayette.

Joy- Couldn't agree with you more! Y0u stated very eloquently the cowardice at the heart of this "community" of bloggers. These anonymous wimps who spread their negativity over this website on a daily basis. Their opinions are always tainted by their bitterness and own personal agendas. I feel for you and your family! No one, elected official or not, deserves these cynical personal attacks. If it's any comfort, I, for one, give no credence at all to anything they have said about your husband because I know how they operate. Most people do, and most people are too busy to read this junk anyhow. Best wishes to you and your family!

I'm glad that you "know how they operate" and are "too busy to read this junk anyhow." Laughing out loud

Perhaps if you'd READ the posts you'd know that there have not been any personal attacks; in fact, some have praised Ballard as a defense attorney.

We'll see when election time comes around just how many people are pleased with Ballard's job performance as a prosecutor who acts like a defense attorney (who are generally the scum of the earth, IMO).

I've seen Ballard's convoluted defense of drug users who drive (I kept looking for Ballard's ponytail) and Judge Edwards' not buying a word of it -- inspiring. My opinion of Ballard was cemented then, but his referring to a child molester as a "good person" confirmed that initial impression.

I'll believe law enforcement officers over a defense attorney any day!

I am positive that this blogging by Scott's well intentioned 'fans' will not help him in the community but instead will probably hurt him.

I am positive that I know Scott and this level of immaturity and discourse is not reflective of him.

I am positive that I like him as a person and as a defense attorney but not as a District Attorney.

Wow... In spite of the wicked thunderstorms my vacation has been great. There's nothing like a ride on the Water Harley at high tide. You can go places where very few have ever dared to venture. Cut the motor and drift through the marsh reeds taking in the "rich" marine life of the South Carolina Low Country. Man... I wouldn't trade this for a tennis court on Hilton Head for all the money in the world. Well...maybe I would for all the money in the world. Wish you guys were here.

Thanks for backing my position Mixer. I very much appreciate folks like you, Lockemup, and several others on here who understand that the real story here is not Scott at all but our declining enforcement of the laws that protect yours and my families. Thanks also for watching my back while I've been gone and my internet access has been practically non-existent. Again thanks guys. There's nothing worse than stepping out on an issue and you turn out to be the only one willing to stand up to an issue that needs to be dealt with. It's easy to go after a councilman, commissioner, rep, or senator because the issues they deal with are ones that we deal with day by day.

Unfortunately when it comes to our judicial system the voters are often clueless and ignorant to what all happens behind the scenes after our law enforcement officers complete their jobs and then turn the cases over for prosecution through the judicial system. In the past the law abiding citizens of this country rested securely knowing that after good guys busted the evil bad guys justice would be served and the evil doers would be put away for a long, long time. Today this is no longer the case, and this is what this whole controversy is all about. Many fine folks (using anonymous monikers for some very obvious reasons) on the Citizen, have stepped up and voiced concerns about the leniency the predators walk away with these days after committing heinous crimes on our family, friends and neighbors.

With all the stinky plea deals that occur daily at our courthouse many vicious bad guys are let back on the streets with sentences that often equate to a pricey speeding ticket. It is a proven and known fact that roughly 85% of all violent crimes are committed by repeat offenders on either early release or parole. So it only makes sense that if we truly desire to reduce criminal activity then we must keep these pieces of human debris locked up regardless of the cost. Even if that cost is ticking off Mrs. Ballard, Charlie Harper, Richard Hobbs (wink), and all the current employees of the DA's office.

Let me just say this.... If Scott Ballard would suddenly put in the extra effort to prosecute the criminal elements of our community to the full extent of the law I could clearly see myself becoming an ardent supporter of our current DA. But after several years of observing many of the cases his office has prosecuted I've come to the conclusion that we are starting to duplicate the soft on crime reputations of our urban neighbors just to the North of us. Because of my concern for my community and my family I take "this" personally.

Now in regards to Mrs. Ballard. Anyone who knows ole Git would know that he would normally relish sinking his teeth into a blogger like Joyb. You gotta admit she has left herself and her hubby wide open for some prime Git Real. If you only knew the restraint I have forced on myself in not responding in a way that would send this gal running with her tail tucked between her legs..... Man...it's killing me.... I smell the blood in the water and I'm doing my best to stay upstream of it... Eye-wink

Think about the treasurers Mrs. Ballard has presented to my campaign. I just wonder if the third candidate has been smart enough to capture the political campaign gems that Mrs. Ballard has chunked our way. Smiling

One more thought before I get on the golf cart for a late night ride around the beach. One has to ask why prosecutors and trial lawyers do their best to avoid having a case come before Superior Court Judge Chris Edwards.

I've seen Ballard as a defense attorney before Judge Edwards & was I impressed (with Edwards, of course). It was then that I knew that I didn't think much of Ballard, and when he called a child molester a "good person," I knew that my initial impression was right.

The following accounts show why being "soft on crime" is a detriment to society.

________________________

Two [white] men described by authorities as career criminals [each having records that include more than 20 prior burglaries but were out of prison on parole] were arraigned Tuesday [7/24/07] in the home invasion and arson that took the lives of three members of a Cheshire [CT] family.

Joshua Komisarjevky, 26, of Cheshire, and Steven Hayes, 44, of Winsted, were formally charged with assault [bludgeoning the father, who survived], first-degree aggravated sexual assault [of the mother and her 11-year-old daughter, who both died, as well as the 17-year-old daughter], kidnapping, burglary, robbery and arson [pouring gasoline on the victims and setting them on fire]. They were each ordered held in lieu of $15 million bond.

State police have said that additional criminal charges are likely to be filed.

________________________

"Gruesome Details in Connecticut Murders"

All three women were raped, sources familiar with the investigation told both the Waterbury Republican-American and Hartford Courant. Petit [the father] was beaten with a baseball bat, thrown down the basement stairs, and then tied up in the cellar.

The girls, sources told the Courant, were tied to their beds and raped repeatedly, then left to burn after gasoline was poured around their beds and ignited.

(Neither suspect had a [known] history of violent crimes.)

[The father heard his wife begging for her life before she was strangled, and the police heard the girls' screams when they arrived to find the house on fire.]

"The Truth of Interracial Rape in the United States"

According to a 2005 DOJ survey, 37,460 white females were sexually assaulted or raped (includes verbal threats) by a black man; 15,832, by bi-racial male; while 10 or less black females were sexually assaulted or raped includes verbal threats) by a white or bi-racial man (which can be interpreted as "black rapists deliberately seek out white women as their targets").

(Department of Justice, "Criminal Victimization in the U.S. Survey [to estimate the likelihood of victimization by rape and/or sexual assault], Table 42, Personal Crimes of Violence, Single-Offender Victimizations, 2005)

In the survey, more than half of the single-offender rapists and/or sexual assault perpetrators were black or bi-racial and about 1/3, white (Table 40).

According to the 2005 DOJ survey, black females face less than a 10% chance of being raped by a stranger (estimate based on about 10 or fewer sample cases); white women, about 43% (Table 30).

"Grasping the Third Rail"

African-Americans are 12% of the population of the United States. Roughly 50% of that population is male. This means that 6% of our population accounts for 50.1% of all rapes committed and 33.6% of rapes committed against white women. What do you suppose the connections might be between these statistics and a.) the prevalence of a multiculturalist ideology that excuses criminality by perpetuating a victim-mentality among African-Americans, and b.) the continued popularity of hip-hop as an expression of the violence and hyper-sexuality that pervades black urban culture?

I think people are frustrated with the increase in crime in Fayette. Criminals used to be afraid of the legal system in Fayette. Now they are using our county for gang initiation. The Sheriff's Dept. is doing their job, we see a large number of arrests every week.

What happens when these thugs get to court? Our judges and DA seem to have gone soft on crime. The most glaring example is the 18yr old who killed his friend. If I remember correctly "he couldn't help it he had been binge drinking" so he got very little jail time. It is malarkey like that, that makes people irritated. I want to feel safe in this county. I get angry when my taxes are paying for judges and a DA that appear to be soft on crime.

I besiege and beg that we don't have to read enormous amounts of political rumblings like this one over a DA. Maybe for months.
There must be at least 100 lawyers in Fayette County who could serve us as DA for a few years (not forever).
It is better if they do the job a year or two and then move on.
Same with the other elective offices.

To assail or ply with demands!

Denise Conner's picture
Submitted by Denise Conner on Mon, 07/30/2007 - 3:35pm.

Besiege -- To harass or importune (badger, hound, vex, plague, be-devil), as with a myriad of nonsensical postings -- Yes, Duller, you do that quite well!

We all "beg" you -- beseech you -- to cease your absurd, rambling posts.

To cause to feel distressed -- Only if one reads and tries to understand your illogical rambles.

To crowd around; hem in -- You do show up at every post, like flies at a picnic.

To surround with hostile forces -- Yes, you are hostile, especially toward pleasant people, such as Tug & Jane, and you'd like to force them to stop posting. You "assail" (attack verbally) and "ply with demands" (like the temper tantrums of a 2-year-old) –- neither verb means beseech or besiege BTW -- that they communicate by email. Your posts do tend to surround this site with their unpleasant smell -- diarrhea of the fingers from a gasbag.

Learn the difference between "beseech" (which indicates civility) and "besiege" (which indicates hostility).

TonyF is right, but you won't stop babbling long enough to listen, and that is characteristic of a fool: "one who is deficient in judgment, sense, or understanding."

Fool: jackass, moron, mooncalf (a strange, glassy-eyed creature with overlarge feet that dances at night in fields in the Harry Potter stories), idiot, goof, goose, nincompoop, ninny, nitwit, simpleton, softhead, dope, ding-dong, dolt

"The pejorative nature of the term fool is strengthened by a knowledge of its etymology. Its source, the Latin word follis, meant “a bag or sack, a large inflated ball, a pair of bellows.” Users of the word in Late Latin, however, saw a resemblance between the bellows or the inflated ball and a person who was what we would call 'a windbag' or 'an airhead.'"

I tried to find just one saving grace in your harangue but all I could find was personal name-calling.
What are "pleasant people," by the way? I can't find anything pleasant in your blabber.

Yea, joyb, she's quite the ambassador.

She should write a follow up called "How to lose friends and ostracize a candidate".

What ever happened to free speech and a man being entitled to his opinion? This is an embarrassment to the community.

Charlie, I recommend you talk to a few cops - you know some of them.

As for the newspaper article 'Git_Real' cites:

"“We were a bit shocked and thrown off by it,” the official from District Attorney Joe Mulholland’s office said.

Ballard does not dispute that he appeared in a Bainbridge, Ga. courtroom to help what he called “a personal friend.”

“I went to speak on behalf of someone who I believe to be a good person,” Ballard said.

Allen pleaded guilty in May 1990 to sexually molesting five female students and trying to kiss two others, all under the age of 14, according to the Decatur County, Ga., Clerk’s Office. Allen was a middle school teacher when the assaults occurred.
