Avatars: Why?

I have ignored the constant blabber about "avatars" for as long as I can!
Why anyone would want to be "represented" by a comic strip or movie person, I'll never understand!
It reminds me of the golden calf that Moses got ticked off about. Why do people need such things to be associated with each other?
What benefit do they extend?
I suppose it could have something to do with recognition which many of you yearn for constantly.
I'm here to gather information, but I'm no longer interested in "avatars!"

I've got to call you out on your statement that you're here to "gather information." Say what? An important way to learn more, or gather information, is to listen more and speak less, unless you're asking questions for clarification. You're constantly spouting your opinion about anything, everything, and nothing or starting inane posts.

Why is it that as people get older, they think their opinions are more important than other's? Do they think their age makes them an authority about everything? You should get introduced to my mother-in-law, y'all are a lot alike.

You sound like one of those women on the evening news ranting and raving about wanting "mo answers," code for money!
"Call me out," I don't even carry a gun! What does that mean?
As to gathering info, some have to be provoked to respond honestly!
My "inane" posts, whatever that is, seem to work.
I'm not as old as your in-law, I don't think. Speaking less is not a part of my heritage. I shout all of the time.

Glad to help you learn a new word -
"inane" : empty, insubstantial, lacking significance, meaning or point, silly

"Call me out" doesn't mean you carry a weapon, it means to pointedly ask you about something you stated, to not ignore it

Your references to me about mo' money and guns - you are paranoid and couldn't be more wrong on who/what you assume I am

Now, go back to bed and maybe you'll feel better after your nap.

I have defended you on many occasions, but now; FUGGEDABOWDIT! You are an IDIOT(was that too harsh?) I wash my hands of you, you, that's what you are. Get an avatar or a life. It's your choice, but make it wisely as it may be your undoing. Get thee behind me.

Find dollar an avatar so he won't feel left out. Maybe he won't be so grouchy. Smiling
