The Stench
This country has many areas where the stench is so bad that newcomers, at first, become ill from it. Those forced to live within it eventually numb their sense of smell to it.
What comes to mind from personal experience is a sulphur coal mining community where the coal is washed in the local waterways; areas around paper mills--usually close to a river for dumping of offal; and large pig farms and environs in North Carolina. There are many others: humans and business have a way of stinking up things.
If we had not moved our steel mills, our auto manufacturing, our clothing mills, and much of our other manufacturing overseas, I doubt if the USA would be fit to live in by now! I'm just glad that used radiation materials stored around in all types of methods doesn't stink.
We are not taking care of our streams and air anymore. We instead want to live well and let another generation live poorly!
Our youth are not as dumb as we think they are. They see what we are doing, and learn that they will also be able to be the same way and be as rich as Rush Limberger.
We also have begun to ignore character and principles, especially in business and sports.
People are actually arguing whether or not a football player who tortures animals should be allowed to continue to be a role model for kids and make 20 million dollars a year---argue!
It has to do with bad contracts signed by corporations, that means corporations and executives will suffer if the player is canned.
We might as well start bull fighting in this country! How about throwing rocks at the devil in Saudi Arabia, killing hundreds either with the rocks or stampedes every year? Move the devil stone here!
Issue machetes to everyone as protection from criminals and people we don't like. Legalize all drugs, all.
Do away with the justice system, and let vigilantes roam.
