Who will it be?

Which Braves pitcher, if any, is most likely to give up Barry Bonds' historic home run this week?

At the time Bonds was taking all those muscle enhancing steroids or whatever it was, wasn't that stuff legal and sitting on the shelves at all your GNC nutrition stores? It was never proven that Bonds took any of the illegal stuff and didn't all the testing show that he was drug free? Anyways, I "think" this is the case.

Now I'm no Barry Bonds fan at all and I think he is probably one of the snottiest, selfish and arrogant men that have ever played baseball. But you do have to grant him this: No muscle enhancing supplements are going to give him the skills to place that bat on the ball as many times as he has. You've also got to give him credit for leading MLB in the most walks ever. He didn't earn that title from any sort of drug use.

Granted we all can't stand this guy personally but to a huge degree he's earned his position in baseball history.

Me....I hope he never breaks Hank's record. But, it looks like he will. Sad I hope he doesn't "not" because of the enhancing supplements he used in the past but because he's the biggest ice hole that ever played baseball.

Hank... You'll always be one of my baseball favorites.

Ok guys.... go easy on me please. Eye-wink

"No muscle enhancing supplements are going to give him the skills to place that bat on the ball as many times as he has.

First off, Bonds has not come close to hitting the ball as much as Rose or Gwen. Not even close; however, the real disagreement is in the fact that seeing the ball and eye hand coordination is half the battle but the other half is having the hand speed to get the bat to the ball. Of course the POWER factor is obviously impacted by the juice.

And NO, Bonds was not 'unknowingly' using some harmless over the counter product.

" BALCO tracked Bonds' usage with doping calendars and folders -- detailing drugs, quantities, intervals and Bonds' testosterone levels -- that wound up in the hands of federal agents upon their Sept. 3, 2003 raid of the Burlingame, Calif., business.

Depending on the substance, Bonds used the drugs in virtually every conceivable form: injecting himself with a syringe or being injected by his trainer, Greg Anderson, swallowing pills, placing drops of liquid under his tongue, and, in the case of BALCO's notorious testosterone-based cream, applying it topically.

According to the book, Bonds gulped as many as 20 pills at a time and was so deeply reliant on his regimen that he ordered Anderson to start "cycles" -- a prescribed period of steroid use lasting about three weeks -- even when he was not due to begin one. Steroid users typically stop usage for a week or two periodically to allow the body to continue to produce natural testosterone; otherwise, such production diminishes or ceases with the continued introduction of synthetic forms of the muscle-building hormone.

Bonds called for the re-starting of cycles when he felt his energy and power start to drop. If Anderson told Bonds he was not due for another cycle, the authors write, Bonds would tell him, "F--- off, I'll do it myself.''

All in my opinion as well of course.

If all that is true then I suppose we can expect Barry to live to be a ripe old 52 years old?

I wonder how much of his career consisted of steroid usage. Regardless he is unargueably one of the all time greats. But he won't go down in history as a player that the fans loved. Did I hear you say it's time to honor Rose for his achievements?

Walk him from now until he retires. Show the world we have had it with roids and we are not going to let Hammerin' Hank's record go to a cheater.

Walk him....at every bat, in every city, every time, until he quits or dies of organ failure due to the 'juice'.
