Cindy McKinney & 2x Standard?

Not really a fan of her but I find this story interesting:
Congressman clashes with police
WASHINGTON (CNN) — Republican Rep. Christopher Shays apologized Friday for a loud and angry altercation he had a day earlier with a Capitol Police officer, saying he behaved “in a way I know was not appropriate.”

Shays spokesman John Cardarelli said the incident took place at the West Front entrance to the Capitol during a rainstorm when the congressman was trying to locate a group of his Connecticut constituents who were coming for a Capitol tour.

An intern had gotten lost with the group and had difficulty describing where they were to Shays, who asked to speak to the police officer. The officer refused, saying it was against policy to accept phone calls while on duty.

Shays eventually found the group and went to them, but the police officer refused to allow them to enter the building through the West Front entrance, which is off-limits to tourists. Shays, Cardarelli said, grabbed the officer’s lapel “to look at his name badge” and shouted at him.

“I know Chris swore, and he probably did use the f-bomb,” Cardarelli told CNN.

Shays later told CNN he did not remember grabbing the officer’s lapel, but he said he was angry and frustrated at not being able to locate the group and get them inside out of the rain.

“The one thing I do remember is wanting to know who it was — I couldn’t see the badge well,” he said. “I didn’t make a fist — that i’m sure of.”

“I shouldn’t have argued with an officer” or touched his badge, he said, and “I regret doing it.”

Shays also said that the point of his apology was “that I don’t want anything that I did to reflect on” the officer.

There is no double standard here Bladder. However, I fully understand your confusion and why you might think that. Let's look at this situation a little more and perhaps I can help you sort this out and I'm sure you'll be Okay with Shays in the end.

You see Bladder.... It's Okay. Although Chris Shays calls himself a Republican he's actually one of you. So don't sweat this incident. You, Chris and Cynthia have much in common. The law doesn't apply to you guys and your family.

Oh...why the one on whether they were African American or not? I did that one for David's Mom. By mentioning race she'll feel that this blog is complete. Eye-wink

To think that anyone would have that much in common with "The Representative from Outer Space" is scary.

This is one of your better responses. Defeating Grif Guy so easily qualifies you for the D.A. job (and no plea bargain either). Need an assistant? Laughing out loud

You forgot he's a male & she's a female.

Thanks for defining the proud liberal heritage the CT Republican Party holds. If the rest of the party had followed Lowell Weicker & Joe Lieberman (sic) & hey, how about Prescott Bush; instead of Scrub and that big right turn into the religious right, think where we would be today....not IRAQ!

Now I know how you guys feel when I blog a 'book'. I'm sorry. Eye-wink

Oh, by the way 'pilgrim', good job.

Keep up the good fight against our bloggin' racists. And I'm not necessarily referring to the white ones. I can only handle one or two fronts at a time. I would have loved to have jumped into the New Orleans debate and backed Bad-PTC up. But you guys are doing fine by yourselves. I still may jump into that fight against ignorance.... specially since I lived down there for 8 years and had some involvement in the pumping and drainage networks down there.

On the other (Ballard) issue maybe we can move on to supporting our law enforcement agencies, fighting crime and removing predators and thugs off our streets. Be sure and tell your buddies that I'd be proud to their be "bucket of spit".

I too originate from N.O. - we moved when I was a little fella. I had family there and some up north now too. It's amazing how some people always seem to get race in to an issue and if Hutch or someone (me, you, anyone really) calls them on it(like take Back Fayette, Beaver, Davids mom, etc.)they howl like a spooked. Maybe they really don't know??

Anyway, to me, Katrina is all about helping yourself and the lack of initiative being shown there in 'chocolate city' is disgusting. I guess all of the 'entrepreneurs' moved to Houston, Texas. Funny, before Nagin it was called the 'Crescent City'.

Point is, you are having a great week on the boards. Where's Denise these days?
