Plausible Deniability

Ever since Fawn Hall, Ollie North's aide, stuffed documents in her underwear to remove from the Pentagon for Ollie, I have despised it when I see young women placing themselves in precarious legal positions to try and protect those above them in the government hierarchy. Men have always done so for obvious reasons but females don't seem to know why.
It is certainly not the first time, but just this week an attractive female political aide to President Bush was asked to testify to a legitimate committee of the congress. Now, although an aide to the President for political affairs, it seems that she NEVER discusses any such thing with the President, nor has she heard him discuss such things. I would have to assume then that his people discuss such things with her people, never mentioning the President!
Boy, I wonder if he knows all that is going on? (Want my answer?)
Do these women think that when they pass on what the "administration" wants to others for action (others being someone Else's people) that it is or isn't the President's wishes?
Now I'm no rocket scientist, but this is dishonesty at its worst, in my opinion.
Not one member of the Gestapo in Germany in WWII, it seems, ever got any instructions, written or verbal, from Adolph Hitler.
Sure the democrats want to hang all these people, just as the republicans wanted to hang all of Clinton's people, and Clinton, but that certainly doesn't excuse such low morals and principles.
Another: the end justifies any means!

Those women won't turn on their criminal bosses because they know they can't play the men's game. They are accutely aware that a woman who accuses a male politician of criminal wrongdoing will be the victim of the "nuts and sluts" defense. She will promptly be accused of suffering from unrequited love for the man she accuses or she'll be accused of being crazy or a poor performer at her job.

Those women understand, all too clearly, that they are mere guppies in a shark tank and when the feeding frenzy begins, the safest strategy is to remain motionless. No, they're not going to be the source of the smoking gun.

Frankly, I'm surprised that you're surprised by any of this. It was a glaring red flag, to me, when it was reported that Bush doesn't use e-mail. What business/organization these days doesn't use e-mail to maximize efficiency? The one that immediately comes to mind is the mafia; remember John Gotti's famous walk abouts (where he would take mob associates outside for a walk to talk where the FBI couldn't hear the conversation)? The other organization that doesn't use e-mail is the terrorists. I can't recall the name but there was some al qaeda operative who was captured and said that orders are dispatched by messengers who travel for miles to pass along verbal messages. So, to me, this widespread amnesia looks like perfect execution of a criminal plan hatched 6 years ago. No documents. No witnesses. No convictions.

But there is one source of hope. Rove and Cheney may not be able to produce the subpoenaed e-mails but the FBI is quite adept at recovering e-mails that have passed through any number of servers between two computers. That's where my hope lies.
