Mr. Munford wants budget cut ideas

From "bean counters" if I get his suggestion! I think he means accountants or finance types.
I don't know what they know about running city departments, but I suppose the possibility exists that they could get a better deal on some of our debt or something like that. Maybe put off paying for the tennis center robbery.
How much of our budget is covered by fines and fees?
How much of our budget comes from sources other than Peachtree City taxpayers? You may leave out the schools if you wish.
Where are the reports from the department heads justifying their requests? Can we see them? Things like: we need 70 cops to cover the attached schedule of coverage, in detail.
What causes a $35,000 policeman to cost $70,000 per year, in detail?
Where do the sewer department employees work every day and what do they do, in detail. How many are there and how many supervisors?
What is the vehicle bill for the entire town, by department, not including net replacement costs, but broken down by insurance, repairs, tires, other parts, who gets the money?
I could go on but somehow I don't think we are going to see these items requested.
Does this, however, give you some idea as to how a budget should be formulated and distributed to taxpayers?

Oh yes, I believe the mayor told John that paying off the development authority fraud wouldn't call for a tax increase. (John, can you reference the article?)

The main problem is the mayor is a dunce. As John said in a recent article, the "candidate" Harold Logsdon demanded a rollback. He bragged on several occassions he could easily reduce taxes if he got elected.

So what happened? Well he wanted to double his pay at the same time he cut everyone else. And the development authority crookedness, yes. Later, it's the folly of paying for a bicycle race. Throw in close to 1,000 houses on the westside that require more city services.

The demands of the job are more than he can produce. Many think that the mayor will do whatever possible to see TDK constructed. Try to imagine what TDK will do to us financially. He does not care.

I agree with dollardayandfound that it's not coming up with the plan, but having the good leaders to do what's right for the city.
