Police Overtime pay

Is this where the budgeted money for policemen and women we don't have goes?
As I understand it we should be spending about a half million more dollars in Peachtree City than we are, due to a missing 6 or so budgeted police officers.
They have always said one costs about $75,000 including everything.
There is currently a mess in the Fulton County police office for overtime approvals. I hope we don't have such a problem here.
Just how is the budgeted and actual overtime shown on say the 2006 budget? Or, is that a military secret?
I have no problem with approved overtime when needed. It just should be available information to the taxpayer. How else are we to ever solve a problem if we don't know the current cost?

So as to cut-off suggestions of my accusing someone of theft, I want it known that all I think is wrong is that we aren't privy to just how the monmey is spent.

Don't worry about the cost of overtime pay or what it takes to fund a new officer or deputy, just know you can never put a price on what they do for you. Every little boy and girl, and most honest adults, want to be a hero, but very few will stand up and do the job. So few are willing to take the risks involved, and even fewer of those are qualified, that is how the shortage of manpower begins. So, those that remain to do the job have to work overtime, and deserve to be compensated for their efforts. Until you as a citizen are willing to take an oath, wear a badge, pick up a weapon, and stand between the evil of this world and the good...just say "thankyou" to the men and women who are willing.

worry.
You answered my worst fears pretty well. I have no right to such information about my taxes.
