New Coca Cola museum

Maybe someone who works for Coke can explain to me why Coke can charge $15-45 per family to see their stuff on display?
"Because they can," comes to mind but I don't buy that.
Wouldn't it make more sense if they let you in free, gave you a coke, and said thank you?
Isn't it advertising? We pay for that already in those $.30 cokes at grocery stores and the $2.00 ones at restaurants!

My boyfriend and I went on a date this weekend to the new coke. We rather enjoyed it. Its a sense of Atlanta history and pride. We really liked tasting all the different cokes from around the world and it gave us something new to talk about/experience. My favorite was the blackcurrant from Africa! I thought it was neat that when you leave you get a glass bottle of coke with the date you did your tour and it has a time stamp. It even has Atlanta on the bottom of the bottle. Some people drank theirs but I'm keeping mine as a souvenir. I don't think it was expensive. It gave us 2 hours of entertainment in air conditioning and we enjoyed our day out in the city! Now we have something to remember our day by Smiling

I would recommend a mild cheddar to go with your "whine".

On a related note, I didn't think you could afford gas to get downtown, so why do you care?

Simply making a statement, not whining. That trip was years ago, but the free tour is still in force. And when/where did I mention gas?

Me for one, I was referring to our resident "whiner" on this blog. A little looking around will find him "whining" about 4 dollar a gallon gas.

McDonoughDawg, you've been prone to whine on ocassion too.

Be an issue driven person, not a mud thrower.

There is a little known outfit in Lynchburg, TN that offers a wonderful guided and informative hour or longer tour and museum. They even offer you some liquid refreshments at the end of the tour. Cost - $0. The place - Jack Daniels.

I have never been able to figure out why most places charge an arm and a leg, while a few charge little or nothing, guess I just don't understand "business".

Perhaps it helps with the upkeep, maintenance, etc. It's a business venture like the Georgia Aquarium, are you saying these things should be free? Surely not. It's all part of the revitalization of downtown Atlanta and since Atlanta depends greatly on the convention industry, why not have venues of interest for those who visit.
Don't want to go or not interested---the choice is yours.
