Dead & Wounded
Approaching four thousand (4,000) dead now in Iraq and Afghanistan, and no end in sight. Reporting of the wounded is sketchy and very hard to keep up with, since they wait and see if they are wounded bad enough to send to Walter Reed, before reporting them---they may even be subtracting them from the total once they get some better.
There are estimates of wounded from 20,000 to 40,000, depending on what one calls wounded, then and now. Wounded numbers are supposed to include the para and quads, and the twisted however.
Counting dead and wounded Iraqis, and Afghans, is quite impossible. Some say 100,000, but I don't know if that includes women and children.
Our coalition (Britain, I suppose, with 15,000 total--soon coming home) doesn't report theirs here.
Only fifteen (15) of ours were killed this week-end, and an unknown number of wounded, and an unknown number of Iraqi army and civilians.
For some reason when the Guard and reserves come home for a while, they leave their equipment there for their replacements.
I think we now have a new General who decides where to borrow some equipment and weapons when an emergency happens here in the USA, and can be temporarily borrowed from say, Alabama if needed in New York. I know we now have a new General in the White House to fill Bush in every day, but I don't know where he gets his information or who clears it through the Pentagon.
Does any one know whatever happened to the Katrina problems? Has FEMA got that straightened out? Will the new wall patches hold next fall?
Is food poisoning being reduced? I like spinach, chickens, and beef---also Chinese cat fish, and Japanese shrimp.
I suppose we have enough Dogs and Cats in the USA to lose some due to glycerol and melamine---at least for awhile. Old people who are broke can't eat it though like they used to do.
Has Secretary Rice got Israel and Lebanon and the Hamas and the Fatah straightened out yet? I thought I saw on the news today where they are bombing and strafing and everything again today. Didn't Ms. Rice also get North Korea straightened out? Also Iran--but I saw where they were making 3000 centrifuges now.
I must stop now due to cut-off length.
