Time to Vote

PTC Guy's picture

Enough talk. Time to vote.

If Brown wins I will not be on gloating.

If Logsdon wins I will not be on moaning.

I will look in and respond to something of interest but I will not be posting much in all probability.

See you again later, maybe. I am truly tired of the campaign.

Seems like you have spent over 12 hours a day here posting/arguing the same argument over and over and over. That will definitely lead to burnout.

PTC Guy, you and I are opposed to several opinions, but not most issues. Please stay involved, as will I and may PTC be the better for it. Good luck to us all.

...keep your passion, PTC Guy. Keep working to make PTC better, regardless of whoever is in the Mayor's chair.

It's been an honor debating with you. May the better man win.

I appreciate the thought and am not the type to give up. Or hold grudges easily.

May we all come together afterwards as a city.

It's not tennis centers. It's not banks. It's not authorities. It's not Pathways. It's not utilities. It's not PAC's.

It's people. Well, and dogs like me. It's your neighbors who work hard to provide for their families. It's the sweet old lady down the street. It's the guy whose lawn always looks so nice. It's Tommy's Mom or Becky's Dad.

This whole stupid argument that these sinister groups are putting Logsdon into office is whacko. The people who are about to put Harold into office are us---soccer Moms, blue collar workers, whilte collar workers, aviation employees, business owners. It's us.

Brown will come up with a thousand excuses for losing. The real reason for his overwhelming defeat is that we've all grown sick and tired of the meglomaniac.

Now go vote.

Arf.

I honestly don't care if the vote comes down 50.1 to 49.9 in Harold's favor because it means we all get our city back, but you heard it here first that the final tally will be 62-38 Logsdon.

That, my friend, is a landslide.

If you haven't voted yet, get off the computer and go cast your vote for Harold! Polls are open until 7PM tonight.

My, what a wonderful day it is in the life of our wonderful city.

I agree with Dan Tennant, the total doesn't count so long as it is 50% for Harold Logsdon. I do think that it will be much higher than 50%; more like 70% or higher for Logsdon. We shall see tonight!! Just remember how great it is to be able to actually go and vote. Think of all the countries that don't have voting, or any decisions made by the people.

I said no gloat or moaning regardless of how it turns out. I shall remain true to that.

One note of interest is that we went at 3:00 PM to vote.

The poll worker said the vote count was half the first time vote.

Neither one of these guys is thrilling the voters. Seems like many who voted for other candidates are rejecting both of them.

So, no mandate can be claimed by the winner. I hope the winner will remember that during their term.

PTC Guy, what are you talking about? Everybody has the opportunity to vote today, whether you voted in the general election or not, as you well know. How can you honestly say that no mandate can be claimed by the winner when you don't know the margin of victory? I can understand if it's 51-49, but if it's roughly 70-30 as I expect, clearly there is a mandate. It's not the fault of the candidate if the voter turnout is relatively light, no matter who wins, but I think the % (whatever it is) will be reflective of the community as a whole.

By the way, I voted around 11am at Fielding Ridge by the Aquatic Center and the place was bustling. Already 250 had cast their ballots at that point, and we are expecting roughly the same turnout as we got in the general election in my precinct.

Again, I predict a 62-38 margin win for Harold and that, my friend, is a mandate!

A couple of thousand votes out of 20 some thousand registered isn't a mandate.

It is a lack luster win.

Mandate is determined by who votes, not the *many people* you keep claiming to know who hate DirectPac or think Brown has more substance. The voters are speaking very clearly that they don't want Brown in office. I predicted 70-30....maybe I was a bit conservative.

As far as those who didn't vote, who the hell cares about them? I want to thank them for making my vote count more and to trust that I am more informed than they are and they'll just let me decide. Hurray!

I stated a mere fact.

Now, we find out how Logsdon will do as Mayor.

I hope not as I fear. But I, for one, will wait and see. It is just plain stupid to continue debating as if the election were still to be held.

He is our Mayor to be.

Now we all must be aware of how he does. If good, let him know. If bad, let him no. Either way we should do that together.

You seemed to want to debate what constitutes a mandate, in other words, attempt to try and minimze the fact that Logsdon destroyed Brown at the ballot box today. A total rejection of all things Steve.

Well, I'm in a jovial mood about it and we will indeed see if Logsdon can manage to be Mayor and perform the duties of Mayor professionally and without alienating residents of the city and county. It's not all that hard to accomplish. Now if he screws up, he'll hear about it from me just as I would if it were Brown.

No I don't want to debate it. I will just let it go with it looks like only 6,000 and some even felt it important enough to vote.

Not a good reflection at on the PTC citizenship at all. A lot of dist interest or lack of enthusiasm altogether.

That needs to change in the future.

Now it is all our duty to keep an eye on him and the Council. Not to put down or act as cheerleaders. But as responsible citizens.

There are things to do. Let's make sure they get done.

I placed my vote at 7a.m. this morning for Logsdon! Lets replace Brown and start filling up those "For Sale" buildings on Dividend Drive again....get a mayor that appreciates the industry on Dividend Drive instead of complaining about the noise it makes in his backyard. One would have thought any person with intelligence would have reseached where he was buying his house before settling in. The Industrial Park was there at least 15 years before Planterra Ridge...if he didn't like it there he shouldn't have bought his house. He was the beginning of the end for Photocircuits. For that I'll never forgive him.

Submitted by PTC32YEARS on Tue, 12/06/2005 - 9:06am.

I was born and raised in this city. My family has had a business in the industrial park since 1971. We have seen a lot of growth. But when they built Planterra Ridge, we all thought "Why?" A nice subdivision in the backyard of the industrial park? People choose where they live. You are right, Brown should have done a little research before moving in and starting his complaining. There were plenty of other homes to choose from when he moved here. I am pro business and believe Photocircuits would still be if the mayor would have wanted them here. You wonder where many of those employees ate lunch every day. I am sure they went to PTC restaurants and shopping centers. I could go on for a while.

I, too, voted for Logsdon. Let's hope he will restore PTC to what it once was.

Amen to that!
