World Air sold

Today's AJC business page says World Air is being sold to the parent of something called ATA in Indianapolis. (You can see story at their website under 'business' area.) Not clear what it means for the local office, story sez. Apparently they'd been shopping for some sort of new ownership deal.

Anyone know if it means a big emtpy office up at the front door to town? Story sez 300 people work at the HQ, which would have to make it one of PTC's biggest employers...

Employees mean NOTHING anymore.
Follow the money on this one. See who has the most stock to cash in at a great price (maybe even former CEOs).
Folks, this is what it is all about and it doesn't have to be.
The good workers could be kept or transferred, or they could be allowed to share in the windfall, but they won't.

See the following URL, www.worldairholdings.com/news/, to read the press release on the sale. Since the buyer operates their current airlines as independent units, that may continue. Or... there may be a power struggle within the merged company for where the consolidation of offices will be. I've been through that before in a major meger, so good luck to the local World employees!
