Congressional Hearings

I dare to say that if the democrats had not won the majority back in the last election, none of the current hearings would be occuring.
This is THE reason why it is so critical to our government survival that we do clean them all out every few years. However, we don't go quite far enough. There are still many democrats there that should have been booted. We also didn't get all of the crooked republicans.
Term limits are needed badly for congress, and a reduction for the Presidency from eight years to one term of four years. The Vice-President also needs to run independently from the President and not work from the White house, but from the Senate where he belongs.
Additionally, campaigning and money-raising should be limited to sixty days before the election. Announcing could be done six months early but no attending of donation afffairs by a candidate.
Career employees, at the two top levels, in the government and staff people hired by politicians, should be automatically investigated once per year by a non-partisan unit, for evaluation purposes.
Maybe, just maybe, only people who want to contribute a few years to our government, and not for big jobs after serving, would appear, and others would stay away.

I like a One term President of say 7 years. I have grown to appreciate the Brit's and a Parliament. I say this: Tony Blair..."irregardless."
