Why is Steve Boone and Judy Rutherford going along with the mayor? What is their motive?

The improper use of the word "is" offends me, but since you mentioned both Steve and Judi and later used "them" I assume you mean both of them.

That aside, the answer to your question is both Judi and Steve are a little out of their element and they look desperately for leadership. In their case it is the mayor. Not good, but explainable.

It has happened before. Remember Carol Fritz? She followed Lenox around as if she had his bit in her horsey teeth. How about Steve Rapson. Big time suck up to Brown until he wanted to run again and then he tried (too late) to become his own person.

And then there is the champion - even worse than Steve and Judi - that would be the Wells attraction to Dunn. My goodness, could there be a better example of a rubber stamp anywhere?

I think this rationale for Steve and Judy's support of TDK (e.g., they look to the Mayor for leadership) is very weak. You need to come up with something else. I don't know either one of them, but there has to be another explanation for why these elected politicans are doing something that 95% of this city is against. What do you think it could be?
