Macaroni Grill....gone..

I guess Carrabba's won this battle.

The grill is gone due to the upper management in the chain. The owners of the land and building wanted them to sign a 10 year lease and the chain of Macaroni Grill would not comit to that long term so they closed the doors...Nothing to do with servise or food I thought they gave you very healthy protions at a decent price. Food was good too, it boils downt to big business....

I wonder how many Peachtree City residents travel to Newnan to shop for the variety of stores and the great assortment of restaurants? Peachtree City stores and restaurants have a hard time staying in business because we don't support them. I will miss Macaroni Grill. Which business will be next? Support PTC!

And I mean rarely. Macaroni Grill was good, but I always thought Carrabaras was MUCH better.

I sure wish this place was open at lunch. They would service such a big lunch crowd now that Valentinos and Macaroni Grill are closed. I've heard so many people comment on wishing it was open at lunch instead of just dinner. Cmon Carrabaras open for lunch for us.

If that means going to Buckhead and points beyond, then that's what I'll do. I just don't support chain restaurants. I don't like the food. I like fresh food, and I would like to have it served sometime in this millennium.

Skyspy you hit it!

The thought that I should eat at a particular location just because its closer and might go out of business is asinine. I refuse to support poor customer service or food quality regardless of where it is. That's my right and is of far more concern to me than whether some local person with poor customer skills goes without. And don’t bother whining about how hard it is find good help in the restaurant business, or how you have no control over the franchisees. Truett Cathy manages to accomplish both on a routine basis with his Chick-fil-a franchises. Poor service at these stores is an aberration and definitely not the norm. So figure it out if you want my business.

I’m guilty of not frequenting some PTC restaurants, one of those is Carabas. If I want Carabas, I brave the Southlake crowds because they have marginally better customer service. I’m also guilty of avoiding Wal-Mart and Home Depot like the plague. I’m a former employee of Wal-Mart and a former addict of Home Depot stores, but quite frankly they now have the worst excuse for customer service there is.

If you want to hang me for that go right ahead. But don’t dare presume to tell me I should spend my hard won cash in some business that doesn’t give a rat’s posterior about taking care of me.

Carrabas food is pretty bad too. I think people shy away from chain restaurants because the food all tastes the same. Even my cooking is better than that.

Can't imagine that Carrabas was the problem. I've never had worse service in my life than at Carrabas. Tried it once and will never go back. Macaroni Grill was terrific. I'll miss it.

That we all have different taste in Restaurants. I also think Restaurants can have off nights.

If it was about a long term lease, as stated elsewhere, I can totally understand that. When Macaroni went in, there was not nearly the competition in the area.

We used to go there about once a week. Then service went down hill, but we kept patronizing them. Then, getting good service was the aberration. We love their menu and offerings but there are only so many times you can get subpar service and keep going.

We waited for the first few weeks of Carrabba's to go by so they could work out "new restaurant" kinks that invariably follow any new place. The food is without peer and the service has always been stellar- right down to them offering free appetizer pizza to children waiting with their parents on busy nights. The manager stopping by to ask how everything was is also a nice touch. Also, they seem to rotate their management personnel on "visits" to other Carrabbas as kind of a QA program. Seems to be working very well.

I don't like to see a formerly favorite place close, but I know many people who grew tired of receiving bad service at Macaroni and then seeing their comments about the same go unaddressed, month after month.
