More Coweta Development

Coweta posponed a hearing on the zoning for 36 ac. N of 34 @ Fischer Rd. Chat-Flint Region has decided that it will need state approval and a DRI.
13 buildings, 200,00 s/f, 3 anchors (1 of 85,000 s/f) & 998 parking spaces.
I think they have already decided on the parcel west of Fischer & the parcel where the nursery was.

"They paved paradise & They put up a parking lot"

I know (from an insider that prefers to be anonymous) that more development is coming along Hwy 34, including some medium size subdivisions. Guess where all that new traffic will head when trying
to reach I-85.... Hwy 74, yes!
We are being distracted with the TDK issue while others are putting plans and we lack the leadership to see beyond the county line!
I said it befire and sy it again: WE NEED TO GET INVOLVED IN REGIONAL PLANNING AND STOP ALIENATING GRTA---We need a better startegy to make things work our way and for the benefit of PTC. Otherwise, this is the beginning of the end to the dream of our beloved city.

Making you think twice......

I went to college in Athens when the by-pass was a little 4-lane that went up from the 'lanta Hwy to Commerce Hwy. It didn't become the loop that it is today w/out some forward thinkin'(gawd, I hope Paul Broun doesn't git credit, but probably will).

You might hate the thought of McDuff being a by-pass but better that than a cut-thru. It is time for some reality check and understand that there are forces working out there that you do not have any control over.

I guess you could take Queen Vic's advice and look up and think of England. Or my friend Sofie who when not whinning about, "I want to be in Miamiiiii!" said, "I think I'll paint the ceiling beige."

A nice rail system in the area would help. Think Globally. Act Locally.
