Because it's the smart thing to do unless you want to be left behind in business as the US progresses to a more diverse society. So, stop your non-sense xenophobic ranting and enroll in Spanish classes. They are available everywhere. We are here to stay and have plenty of children, integrate and enjoy the land and learn English.

What would that be? A driver's license? They can be had for about $75 (fake). What would you show when asked?
If we stop using any Mexicans, through contractors I assume you mean, what do we go by, their looks? Shape? Color? One can be suspicious but not sure of illegality. There are millions here LEGALLY.

The ONLY way is to put people who hire illegals in jail. Soon there won't be any here. No work, can't afford to live here.
How does an employer know either? He will have to check references, credit ratings, tax records, and a government issued imprinted card readable with a special machine only.

The key problem here is not immigration, but integration. The problem with Mexicans (as opposed to Irish and Italians before them) is that Mexicans take more time to integrate and tend to live more in their culture, with the thought of making money and going back to Mexico sometime in the future.

The trend will continue, and Hispanics will become the largest minority (some 50 million) by 2030. Soooo.... it is a good time to influence your kids to learn Spanish and the ways of Spain and Latin America to foster understanding, as it is a good time to provide opportunities and a message to these immigrants that the American way is to integrate, learn English and fulfill the law of their new land. Viva Mexico!!

I'm no expert, but my take on things is that what we call the Baby Boom was precisely the result of horny WWII soldiers getting home and realizing what they had been missing in the European and Pacific theaters.

With ten million men at war in Europe and Asia most of the women here who were married to many of them had no children DURING the war, some did of course.
Lots of kids after the war didn't fill those slots missed in those years.
