Hey remember the good old days when Black people and White people couldn't use the same facilities?

Scenario:
1973: Jimmy smokes a cigarette outside of school, he's been a smoker since he was 11.
2006: Jimmy dies of lung cancer because cigarettes kill people.

1973: Extensive logging concessions granted in the Amazon rainforest.
2006: Nearly half of the Amazon is destroyed, poverty in Brazil has more than doubled as well as its population and the destruction of the lung of the world continues unabated.

1973: 9-11-1973. Backed by the Nixon Administration, Augusto Pinochet takes power in Chile in a coup and over the next 17 years Pinochet kills 30,000 people to stay in power; the United States turns a blind eye.
2006: Saddam Hussein set to face the death penalty in Iraq; Pinochet dies having never seen a jail cell.

1973: There is only one Black person serving in the United States Senate: Edward Brooke, R. Massachusetts.
2006: There is only one Black person serving in the United States Senate: Barack Obama, D. Illinois.
I guess the United States is still pretty racist.

1973: People in the Communist Soviet Union killed for criticizing the government.
2006: People in the Democratic-Capitalist-Free Market-Russian Federation killed for criticizing the government.

1973: Ignoring the advice of its allies, the United States invades and occupies a country with an inferior military. After nearly 20 years, the United States makes plans to withdraw from Vietnam.
2006: Ignoring the advice of its allies, the United States invades and occupies a country with an inferior military. After nearly 4 years, the United States makes plans to withdraw from Iraq.

That is the FUNNIEST thing I have read in so so long!!! I drive a school bus so I can really relate to the school setting scenarios, and I was born in 1973 so it caught my attention! Great Posting! Thanks so much for the humor!
