Bringing US all TOgether

Did I dream VP Cheney is going to be a GrandPa? It's funny how people's positions or attitudes change when it happens to them. Another reason why we should not go to war without a Draft. Send in the Twins or that godd lookin' nephew.

with Dick Cheney. When he moves into your direction and embraces your ways of thinking one would think you would be complimentary and accepting with his change of heart. Guess you're destined to go to your grave a bitter, nasty, snotty nosed, cop hating old Scrooge. Better hope for those ghosts tonight before it's too late.

Merry Christmas and God Bless Bladder.

I can't quite make a link between the draft and VP Cheney's daughter, but it is an absolutely amazing occurance when one of the most conservative leaders of our country has a daughter expecting a child with her life partner. I am not bothered by this in the least. Our family is VERY conservative. Between the 7 people in my home, there is not one tatoo, male peircing, or nose stud. But I do not stick my nose in the private lives or bedrooms of others. I refuse to let them enter mine (without invitation Smiling ).
It is fortunate Mary Cheney's family is very conservative and well respected in those circles. This will shield her, her unborn child, and her life partner from the terrible scrutiny and criticism she would surely receive if she had been born a Pelosi. I believe that if my fellow posters take an honest account of our political history, they will agree.
This, I believe, also reinforces the contention that the homosexual lifestyle is not generally a choice. Mary absolutely loves her father and has said and acted as such. No one can claim that Lynn and VP Cheney are or were bad parents. I have never seen anything to support such a contention. I believe Mary is behaving and living in a way she feels is inate. Believe me, I never made a choice to find women amazingly attractive. It's something that I've just always known. ummm, and if my wife reads this, she certainly knows that she is the most amazingly attractive women I have known and will ever know! Gitreal can tell you all about how henpecked I am.

Cheers,

Much as Dick Cheney acts differently when presented with this situation in his own family, I think our "leaders" would act differently if their children were marching toward the sound of the guns. I doubt the VP ever spoke to the Log Cabin Republicans.

I wasn't looking at it from the right perspective; the perspective of "when you have a stake in the fight, your behavior goes beyond simple rhetoric." I feel you are most likely correct with respect to many people. I am also sure that there are many republicans like Randall Terry who would disown an openly gay child. Randall Terry was the spoksman for Terri Schaivo's family. Even though his background included adultery and divorce (not attacking him here, just pointing out facts), he drew the moral line at his son's openly gay lifestyle and kicked him out of the house. His son later wrote a long article about feeling completely abandoned and full of dispair. I prefer the Cheney parenting style of unconditional love. Unlike the VP, I would not be able to support the policy keeping my daughter from her "pursuit of happiness" as an adult in a long-term, committed, monogamous relationship.

Cheers,
