Mayor: Dearest Birdman

First of all, how do all of you have the time to sit and blog all day? Maybe the unemployment rate in Fayette County is higher than the Board of Labor predictions. I apologize for apparently missing some previous questions that you blogged at some point. I only have enough time to check the site while eating breakfast and at night on most days.

The new McIntosh auditorium holds about 550 – yes the students were included in the 200 number – people were sitting in all three sections. A woman who was sitting on the back row gave me the count. I can assure you that it definitely was a lot more than 60 people if that is what the newspaper said. The reason that I am so certain of this is that made 80 copies of Harold Logsdon’s website, essays and mailers. I handed out all 80 and if they were a couple or family, I only gave them one copy to try to stretch them out. There were easily 60 people that did not get a personal copy.

People were amazed that I would bring Harold’s campaign material to the debate. I wanted it to be an open and honest event expressing views from both sides. Since Harold refused to show, that was the best way I knew to bring in his views. The term “view” is really appropriate because Harold really does not tell you how he is going to do anything. In fact, he is backing off of previous statements regarding cutting taxes.

I hope this answers your question. I have to go eat lunch now as I have a busy day to follow working with my constituents.

If everyone would not be so rude with their blogs or comments, a lot more people would want to read them. Some of the offensive remarks turn the readers away (This is not directed a Birdman specifically, but all users).

Sincerely,
Steve Brown

Dear Mayor Brown,

We question your sanity when you make such silly comments.
1. You ask these bloggers to be civil as if your sarcasm hasn't been the ink of choice in your many letters to the editor over these many years.

2. You ask how these bloggers have so much time to post, as if the labor statistics are wrong. Well pretty soon, I know somebody else who will be looking for a job, and I can only imagine how many times that person will be posting. BTW: Will you change your posting name then?

3. You "spin" the high school debate's numbers. Why? Because you have no momentum at all. You want to stir the fires to see if you can suppress Logsden's voters and to get your base fired up. Get this statistic right... No INCUMBENT has ever won a run-off in Georgia if he/she did not recieve at least 45% of the original votes.

As I've repeatedly stated you are a Democrat, and as the few members of the Democratic Party in Fayette are feverishly trying to get out their vote, you will stoop at every trick of the trade to win. Or else you are an embecile thinking that you actually have a chance to win.

Are you going to say the election was stolen when you have even fewer total votes for you in the Run-off?

I suggest you try Citizen Brown, or Obsessed with Power as your new posting name, at least when you lose the run-off.

47 attended the "debate". I was there and counted them. No one had their mind changed. No votes were gained. About 1/2 were students and the other 1/2 Brown supporters (and boy are they a funny looking bunch) And Logsdon campaign mangager was there.

He addresses his comment "Dearest Birdman" and ends the comment by stating "This is not for Birdman".

Trying to explain the overstated number of attendees at the debate he claims "the numbers were given to me by a woman".

What a farce!!!!

There are actually a lot of reasons why we can do this blog. Too bad you aren't as familiar with your constituency as you think. Just so you know, I have a full time job that allows me to enjoy a very nice lifestyle. It also allows me to have time for myself. To be honest, for someone who claims us as his "beloved" I noticed a touch of insulting sarcasm in your answer to me. So when you are done with lunch, dinner, etc. And have put the city to bed and "kissed us all goodnight," please explain again how your estimation of the numbers can be so inflated. In fact your comment indicated that there were 200 PLUS 40 students. Let me just quote you here:
"we had about 200 people in attendance, probably 40 students too."
You see, it certainly indicates 240 people. Had you said "200 people including 40 students" it would have been clear. Regardless, the AJC and others counted about 60 people. Your numbers are way off. If the auditorium holds 500, then by your count it would have been about half full. That sure should have been easy to notice. As for my previous questions, look under the blog entitled "Mayor Brown, Can You Go Much Lower?" It's under your blog about the non-debate debate. If you can't find your blog, just look under Mayor Steve Brown's blogs. Still waiting for those answers. As for your answer to this question, what I expected, plausible deniability, weak.
Didn't work for Clinton either.

Birdman, can't you just communicate normally, without insults and sarcasm?

You tell Mayor Brown, "I noticed a touch of insulting sarcasm in your answer to me." then you insult and mock him. Way to make friends and influence people.

Before you attack me, as I stated I did not vote for Mayor Brown or your man Logsdon during the first election and am still undecided.

Your actions and that of any over the top supporter of either candidate does more harm than good. I happen to believe the non debate debate is an issue. Why doesn't Logsdon agree to one last debate? He can set it up, I'm sure the Mayor will attend.

I hope the Mayor answers your questions, I'm interested in learning more from BOTH candidates.

You're right, I am sarcastic to Brown. It comes from a long time of his constant insults to me and many others. Yes, before this "wonderful" anonymous mudslinging forum, I actually wrote letters to the editor and signed them. The result, Brown personally as well as with supporters, attacked, insulted, slandered, me. I am not a public figure. I am not a developer. I am not a special interest group. I am a ticked off citizen that is tired of his "way of doing business." So, you are right, I do insult back. To be honest I am tired of all of this but this is what will be happening as long as Brown has any voice. Logsden along with the new council is a chance to end this blighted period of our history. Oh, and just so you know, my objections over the years were in regard to foolish expenditures, pet projects, his private annexation negotiations, his clear ethics violations, and his constant assault on everyone. Logsden represents an opportunity to bring dignity back to the city. As for leadership, Brown is clearly not a leader. A leader would respect the opposition. Brown degrades the opposition. So, you are right. I apologize that I am sarcastic. I am just fed up with his attacks on me so, unfortunately, I lower myself to his level and attack back.

This is not a point of argument from me. Just a point to hope you see how this is taken by a lot of others.

Logsden represents an opportunity to bring dignity back to the city.

Bring back implies to return to how it was done before. And before was a lot of private and hidden from public deciding and actions that allowed arrogance that allowed the problems with such as the Tennis Center to happen.

Really. Those issues began before Brown as issues with such as stormwater problems by allowing substandard and incomplete work to get OKed have happened for many years prior to even Lenox.

Do I want dignity for PTC? You better believe it.

But do I want that appearance via false fronts and hidden decisions? No.

Brown has done things that do not set well with me. And things that needed done that have have been, "ya, ya, we will get to it," for years and never happened.

But when what I see from Logsdon is back to hidden agendas and working behind the scenes approaches the term "bring back" in how he would handle things I see a return to a past I don't want and we don't need.

I would rather have an offensive out in the open mayor that can be kept track of than one who moves in shadows and cannot be kept track of. One who will take on unpopular issues rather than ones that make good poll ratings.

Sure, Logsdon is behind the Stormwater. Has to be since it is too far down the road to dump now.

Hope you see why not liking Brown is not a good enough reason to vote against him in my book.

It's to bad people who were undecided like yourself couldn't learn more about the candidates side by side at the debate last night....

Mr. Mayor:

Can you please answer this question?

From Dana Kinser's blog:

"So, to close, I ask this of both of you. Please don't take cheap pot shots at each other and the supporters that have already aligned themselves behind the two of you. Simply provide us with your plans. The citizens of Peachtree City are an educated group and when presented with something, they can form their own opinions. Simply provide them with your plan and GOOD examples on how you can or will achieve it."

I just haven't seen the issues described anywhere. Since we know you read this, I welcome the opportunity for you to provide your vision for the next four years.

And please feel free to review the debate coverage on the blogs; let me know if my prediction was close to how it "really went".
