More PTC Cops

My daughter told me a new one about a friend. Kid gets a warning for No REVERSE light (I need to see the tix to believe). Cop then follows her up PTC Parkway S. Pulls her over and gives her a tix in front of the fire hse. for being in the turn lane and going thru.

Anyone who is familiar with this area knows it is a sharp pull right to stay out of the turn lane.

They are and have been out of control.

Since Bruce went down several weeks ago the COPter has been quiet. I still have the count as Perps 6 : COPter 0.

Bladderq, I'm not going to slam you personally like some of the other replies here, but I must say that the PTC police are a lot better than some other small-town police departments I've seen. I've been here three years, and I'm an aggressive driver, yet I've never been pulled over or harassed in any way. Yes, I'm a white middle-aged male, but they wouldn't know that until they'd already pulled me over; my windows are tinted.

There are other towns where the police really have been guilty of running speed traps and harassing citizens. Whitesburg, GA (10 mi west of Newnan) used to be like that, back in the 1970's. The speed limit abruptly dropped from 55 to 35 at the city limits, and the radar unit would hide behind a barn and nail drivers right at the sign. I've seen nothing like that in PTC.

Traffic tickets are not that big a deal anyway. If you want to discuss a police screw-up, just read the AJC article about the fatal shooting of that 92 year old woman yesterday. She apparently thought it was a home invasion in progress, and shot three police officers before they returned fire and killed her. I don't blame them for returning fire, but the situation smells of a screw-up in how it was conducted. I wasn't there, so I'm not passing final judgment, but it does look fishy. Your daughter's friend getting a traffic ticket is just water under the bridge, compared to that situation.

One of two things is happening here:
1. You're dumb enough to believe the crap kids make up when they are complaining about the cops. These stories are usually a grotesque bending of the actual facts about why they got stopped, and sometimes just a complete fabrication. For example, your daughter's friend did NOT get stopped for "No Reserve Lighting". That simply is not a law. Why don't you tell us what "reserve lighting" is since you're so in "the know"?
2. You're just making things up because you're angry at the police for penalizing you when you got caught doing something wrong. Either way, you are pathetic for posting this garbage on here - and you are fooling yourself if you think any reasonable person is going to believe that this actually happened the way you're describing.

Submitted by dollaradayandfound on Wed, 11/22/2006 - 3:04pm.

Reverse, reserve, reverse, reserve, reverse, reserve! Which? You are correct however about what happened being "glossed over, we all do it, don't we?

Submitted by PTCitizen on Thu, 11/23/2006 - 12:34am.

Ok, I can laugh at myself... that was pretty dumb. I guess I'm coming down with a case of dyslexia (j/k). Either way though, what this guy is saying is stupid - I cannot imagine somebody getting pulled over because their reverse lights were not working. What would your friend even be doing for the officer to see the reverse lights were not working. Keep in mind they enforce laws on public roadways, not parking lots.

Submitted by dollaradayandfound on Thu, 11/23/2006 - 9:12am.

When a policeman stops a car due to any one infracton, he has the right to check the rest of the operating features per law. When you put your vehicle in reverse, the back up lights come on---if they are working. I think the law says that if you have something on a car for safety reasons, it must work.

Submitted by PTCitizen on Thu, 11/23/2006 - 5:51pm.

Ok, that's all well and good, but he only said that she got a warning for the reverse lights not working. Is he saying she got pulled over for that? If not, what sort of idiocy did she get pulled over for? That's what puzzles me. If she got stopped for something else, and then for some reason the officer decided to inspect the rest of the features and found that they don't work - then that would make a little more sense. I guess that's what you're trying to say, but either way that doesn't *seem* to be what happened from what Bladder is telling us happened. I've never actually heard of a police officer invoking his right to conduct a safety inpsection on a vehicle like that (not that they can't). If any of this actually happened, my bet is happened like this: Girl is driving badly and doing something she should not. She gets pulled over. During the stop, she for some reason puts her car in reverse and her lights don't work. Since the officer has already written her a warning for what she got stopped for, he goes on to mention the defective reverse lights. He releases her from that stop. She continues driving and somehow fails to observe (or purposely disobeys) the clearly marked turnlane northbound on Peachtree Pkwy at Hwy 54. The officer (or maybe even a different one) sees her do this, and pulls her over for committing such a stupid moving violation. He writes her a citation (which I would expect if I did that) and releases her. She then leaves and goes around whining to all of her friends about how mean and terrible the police are for making her obey the same laws as everybody else - even after her mommy explained to her that she is special and should not have to be responsible for her own actions.

Submitted by thebiggun on Thu, 11/23/2006 - 7:00pm.

I called a friend of mine at the police deaprtment and he said they do not do safety inspections and he has never heard of anyone getting a warning for back up lights unless it was part of an accident and the victim said there were no back up lights.
What we have here is a liar and jerk in Bladderq. Has been on this one and has been on just about every blog he has written. Mental case if you ask me. Hates government, police, his neighbors and anything else with authority attached to it. His children will be just like him, an ingrate bottom feeder. Can't type, spell, use correct english and is always right. Calling him a jerk, ingrate, liar, bottom feeder and slug will not faze him because he is right and the world is wrong.

We need to just pretend he is not breathing in this world or PTC. He is just a pimple on the butt of society just waiting for the right cop to stop him and give him the old wood shampoo when he opens his mouth. If I had my Capt. Kirk ray gun, he would be a memory. Ignore him.

I'll bet you a pepsi-cola that what the person meant was her back lights (tail light out, or some such! We don't all communicate alike. What policeman was it that said that they do not do safety inspections? Millions of tickets have been written for such things.
I agree that peiople say only what they want you to hear, to the best of their ability, but all this dumb unknowing talk just aggravates the situation.

The comments by Gun and I were not unknowing or dumb. I said that police officers extremely rarely (if ever) actually invoke their right to conduct a safety equipment check. They may stop you for a broken taillight or something like that, but that does not constitute the type of equipment check that you were (unknowingly perhaps) referring to. The equipment section of Georgia Traffic Law states that after stopping a vehicle for some equipment violation, the officer can check certain other things as part of a safety inspection. Why do you insist on being so disagreeable?

Who deleted my first post (before the one above)... and why???

Submitted by dollaradayandfound on Sat, 11/25/2006 - 8:13am.

You are trying to fog up the facts due to a person who didn't make themself clear about a traffic stop. You are assuming that a person who is unable to defend themself in writing must be covering up something. This is not to say that the officer who gave the ticket shouldn't have. Now you know that no one is stopped because their backup lights aren't working unless the policeman saw that occuring in a parking lot beforehand? So, why stopped? Lane changing?
Facts are, it is not good to drive in Fayette as DWB, DWY, or own an old vehicle, poorly maintained. Tail lights will be checked, but not citizenship or identification.

Actually this sad person sounds like they are bi-polar and has stopped taking their medicine, and or they are acoholic.

Either way it is sad since there appears to be kids involved. You are right biggun we need to ignore this jerk.

Either you cannot go through life without breaking the law and so you place all the blame on cops. Or, you tried to become a cop and failed miserably and again, place all the blame on those that accomplished what you could not? You are such a joke! You make yourself too obvious.

Oh, by the way, you have no clue what you are talking about when you keep saying "copter 0". Tell that to the families of loved ones that have been found by Hawk 1 when all other means have failed.

I remember an incident a couple of years ago that 4 guys that committed an armed robbery at a local convenient store were ALL apprehended because of Hawk 1. There are SEVERAL other incidents where Hawk 1 intercepted. You are just too ignorant to acknowledge it.

You must have an extremely lonely life. As negative of an attitude that you have, must not be too many people who even want to associate with the likes of you.

I just had a truck load of rocks delivered to my backyard.....after taking careful inventory, I have determined that the IQ of the rocks is exactly 100 points above yours bladdICan't drive.

After all of these months you still are the "rainman" of PTC driving, and your kids too. What is wrong with you??? You know that cops can drug and alcohol test you anytime you are driving suspiciously?? Which in your case sounds like it would be all of the time.(too much alcohol with our prozac?....come on it's just us regulars here,...that would explain your behavior)

If anything the cops here are way, way, way, to easy on the little brats here and people who drive like you do too.......and everyone knows it except for you.

Since the cops are soooooo meeeaaannnn here, why don't you take your whiney self somewhere else.. but not zone 2 in Buckhead...lately those guys have been in a bad mood....also Sandy Springs has all of a sudden developed a low tolerance for speeders....just a few tips for our little rainman.(you critizing cops..puleessse)

If anything we do need more cops here to chase out people like you.....you know that when you are driving suspiciously they can chase you down with the .......COPTER! That would then be 1000%PTC and Fayette copter..and 0% bladder- I -don't- have- a -clue- how- to- drive...so I will blame everyone else!

hey bladder boy,

I have an idea for your little friend, obey the law and you won't get a ticket. Pretty crazy huh?

I like your description of the hard right turn to get out of the turn lane as if only a skilled NASCAR driver could pull of the maneuver. Sure, it's impossible to get out of the turn lane and PTCPD just waits for hapless motorists to go through the light in the turn lane, it's a great scheme, thats how the new PD was bought.

Your bitterness comes through in your post and hope you had to pay a lot in fines or spent some time in jail for your offense.

As for the copter score, are you sure on those numbers? I guess recovering stolen cars or chasing fleeing felons doesn't count? How about locating missing people in the woods?

If your such a tough guy, you should show up in court and help your little friend fight the tickets. I'm sure the judge would love to hear about the technical maneuver required to avoid the ticket. But you won't, you'll just sit behind your computer screen and do noting but complain and take cheap shots.

Though you don't like Fayette LE, they are some of the best in the US. Gutless cowards like you can hide behind that screen name all day long, it's not like you would ever have the nerve to give a police officer a hard time to his/her face, it's not your style.

Submitted by dollaradayandfound on Sat, 11/25/2006 - 5:22pm.

Is Concerned Citizen your real name? I couldn't find it in the phone book. I happen to know that Bladder Boy is a real name and not a screen name!
What do police officers do to peole who give them a "hard time" to their face? Are you allowed to talk or protest at all?
The copter used to go over my house nearly every day to get fuel at PTC airport but I haven't heard it lately. Is it sold? Are they both sold? Can I get copter lessons at the county's expense, using the county copter, or is it the sheriff's copter?

Submitted by thebiggun on Sat, 11/25/2006 - 6:21pm.

Hey dollaradayandfound Concerned Citizens name is right under your name in the phone book. Bladderq and you make a pair that would beat a full house any day of the week. I belive you two were seperated at birth. You hide behind your blog name becaue you don't have the guts to attack police officers with your real name. Come on buddy give it up. I suggest you go to Atlanta and find a cop standing on the street and give him your standard "hard time" and find out what happens. Police around here are way to nice to jerks like you. As for the copter, call the Sheriff's office and ask them your questions. I am sure they would be glad to answer.

Concerned Citizen you are right on the money. He sits in his computer room, and tells tales and lies. Can't spell, bad english and sorry kids. He does not have the guts to say anything to a police officers face. Bet he is talking to kids on the internet as he is always defending the ones that are arrested. Yup a sorry coward, sitting at his computer, in a dark room with lots of lotion near buy.

If you produced that daughter you are talking about, and she has the same brains you have, then she is in deep trouble. You need to get a life jerk. I bet your mother dropped you on your head when you were born to have such a slanted view of the people that keep you safe. You need to continue to believe what your daughter tells you that she heard 9th hand. That will allow you to feed your troubled outlook on life.

O yes by the way, learn to type and spell it will make you less like an uneducated jerk. GET A LIFE !!!!!

Submitted by bladderq on Tue, 11/21/2006 - 9:12pm.

& then you must be an A-Hole. My posting is only to document that the PTC PD target the least among us who can defend themselves. I myself have been on the receiving end but had the time and intellect to beat the rap.
Not sure where the defaming my Mother or thinking this story was "9th" hand or that my life is troubled. I would invite you to document the typing and spelling errors but that is not what "blogging" is about. You are the A-Hole.

Submitted by thebiggun on Tue, 11/21/2006 - 9:22pm.

You are not worth responding to. Hope the cops really stick it to you one day.
