What are You Thankful For?

I'm thankful for my neighbors who watch out for me daily. Like today when I carelessly left my garage door open, they watched to make sure no one walked in to damage my convertible. Thank you.

It's the little things that mean so much.

What are the rest of you thankful for? I'm the worst of the bunch when it comes to complaining on here, but there are small acts of kindness that "pay it forward" if you will(great movie too by the way).
What small acts of kindness have touched you lately?

I'm thankful for my husband for 40 years, who passed away suddenly, four years ago.

I'm thankful for my children and grandchildren who try to comfort me, when they are grieving too.

I have so much to be thankful for...loyal friends, a home, those who serve in some way to protect us, which allows us freedom, and safety.

I could go on and on.....Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

I am thankful that I have not had it easy. I'd hate to think of what I would have become if I had had things my way. Working hard and striving for the best gives me fulfillment and a satisfaction that helps me keep the little problems in life in perspective. Thank you all for these discussions; because if we couldn't complain here, we'd all be taking it out on each other in traffic.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.

That was very insightful and I think true for all of us.

Also, these discussions do help - especially when I'm on 74N.

for my family who has always supported me in whatever decisions I had to make.

I am thankful for my good health.

I am thankful for a job that I look forward to going to.

I am thankful for our law enforcement and all other ems personnel who will be working tomorrow and keeping us safe.

And last but definitely not least, I am extremely thankful to all our soldiers who have and who are fighting so that we may enjoy this holiday with our loved ones. To all the families of those soldiers, thank you. Please know that they and you will be in my prayers tomorrow when I sit down with my loved ones. I hope that you will feel the warmth in your hearts that will be coming your way from all of us who will be saying "Bless you and Bless your loved ones."

I am truly blessed with the best neighbors in PTC.

I am thankful for my sense of humor that has gotten me through some difficult times.

My job, that has allowed me to live in a beautiful and tranquil home.

Last but not least, my adorable, intelligent and faithful dog.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYBODY!!!!

* My Father who has loved me unconditionally and still apologizes (25 years later) for he and my mother divorcing, eventhough it is the best thing that ever happened to me and to him.

* My Husband who lets me be me and doesn't punish me for it. I look forward to a long and happy life together because we allow each other to make those little mistakes in life and forgive each other immediately.

* My 2 "kids". No one is happier to see me each day than those 2. Their smiling faces and wagging tails meet me at the door every day like they have not seen me in years.

* My health. I am a profound germaphobe. I do not fall ill often but when I do, it is bad. Nothing this year knock, knock.

* My home. Dh and I have worked hard on our home to make it what we've dreamed of since childhood. We are closer as the days go by.

* My family. Parts of our family have been disconnected for many years and we are finaly putting some of the pieces back together.

* My friends. I don't know what I would do without some of them. Others, not so much....hehe

I am thankful for many other things but these are the most important and pretty much fall in that order.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!

I am thankful for:

* My wife of 31 years. She was my childhood sweetheart, became the mother of our four children, and is now the loving grandmother of five--working on six. We still hold hands when walking together.

* Four loving, grown children, each with a heart of gold.

* Six grandchildren (#6 is on the way) who have not yet figured out that their Pawpaw has vices as well as virtues. If I can be half the man my grandchildren think I am, then I'll be OK.

* Loving parents who showed me the way. My mother still suffers under the same illusion as my grandkids.

* The best job in the world.

* Arthritic hands. Had it not been for the pain in my hands, which sent me to my doctor (and a blood test), I would STILL be ignorant of the prostate cancer that was growing within and it almost certainly would have metastasized by now.

* Old friends. My best friend of twenty years, whom I met when we were in our doctoral programs together, is my hiking and fishing buddy, my best (and worst) critic of whatever I write, and a person of great practical wisdom who helps me to keep a bit of ballast and keel in life.

* New friends. I've appreciated interaction with many here, for instance, despite our collective anonymity.

* Ideas, music, jokes, beauty and all of the elements that go into a rich life lived in "a universe charg'd with the grandeur of God."

I am thankful for:

My beautiful home in Fayette County; and

My job that pays for my home; and

A good car to take me to my job every day; and

Mobility so that I perform the work that pays for my home; and

The education that qualified me for my job; and

A sound mind to use my education; and

These blogs (because no matter how "testy" people get, I can always learn something here); and

Parents who valued education and never accepted less than the best from their children; and

My church family that has sustained me through some pretty tough times; and

Parents who valued hard work and taught their children the value of a dollar; and

And most of all . . .

I am thankful for parents who gave me the gift of good judgement and a healthy dose of skepticism.

I love living here and like some of you, I complain more than I should. There is very little to seriously complain about here and a whole lot to be thankful for in Peachtree City.

I am very thankful to have found this place I now call home. I hope you all feel the same way.

I'm also thankful that the yard guy is coming tomorrow...these leaves are taking over
