Kmart ... HELLO!!!

masked08's picture

Today I went by Kmart in PTC at lunch to pick up a few things. They had 2 registers open. A lot of people run out on their lunch *hour* to pick up things so they don't have to do it on their way home. I was the 4th person in line at #2 then the rude girl calls back "I'm closed". No "Sorry, could you go the next register" or "Could you let everyone behind you know that I am closed after you". WTF? I then went over to "Customer Service" to check out and asked why they only have 1 checkout open with so many people in the store. I was ignored. Then the lady proceeded to sniff my air freshener, comment on 2 other things I was purchasing, then ask me if I would like to pay for today's purchase with my Sears card. Did you not just see me run my debit card through the machine???

So basically what I am asking here is ... When are yall going to close this store?? There are plenty of other places where I can get my fill of rude when I need it.

I agree, it would be nice to have a Lowe's here.

I'm not sure that the footprint of that K-Mart is large enough.

I would really not be happy if we ended up with an 80% Lowe's like HD is.

Even a full size HD rarely has "everything" you need to finish a project.

Kill-Roys is an absolute rip off and should be scraped off the ground.

Thank God for Ace.

"Drive around". "Foe ateeen" (Not hi, kiss my butt, nothing - she takes the money - makes the change - closes the dang window in my face! SNAP! I'm like - oh, okay, thanks and have a nice day! I guess I should go the the nexx window! Aughhh.

You know what - all I ask is if I GIVE you some of my money - you ACT like you are glad I did....is that too much to ask?

Do you really think it was chicken that they gave you?

After all, it was a Micky D's.

The running joke between my husband and myself is that when ever we need a dose of depression, we just go to K-Mart! I'm surprised its still open also. I think Wal-mart put the nail in the coffin, and Target is bringing the hammer to finsh the job.
Its seems there is a lot of shops closing in that shopping center.

More people and more traffic will not save a store with inferior merchandise and rude inept staffers.

On the other hand, TDK will save K-Mart's replacement and the increased traffic will certainly help them prosper.

Any ideas on who will replace K-Mart?

How about China Buffet?

Don't forget all the promises ... TDK is going to save the Braelinn Shopping Center ... our traffic will flow smooth as silk ... we will live happily ever after.

US Rep. Lynn Westmoreland and Mayor Logsdon wouldn't lie to us would they? Smiling

Ninety-five percent of the time we get treated the way we INVITE people to treat us. Remember that masked 08.

I agree with that sentiment, but really if you've ever been to that K-mart you'd know that it's one of the 5% of places where you can be as nice and patient as you like, and still get treated just as badly as a rude or unreasonable person.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Target in that spot - we have 2 each of McDonald's, Chik Fil a and Wendy's - why not Target?? Probably won't happen though. Maybe a Micheal's craft store? Just please no thrift stores or things like that horrible Ross. It opened and I guess they build in dirt and despair when they design those things. It's depressing just to walk in - kinda like a K-mart Smiling

That would help draw a crowd to that center and give the folks at home depot a run for their money. Competition would be good for their customer service skills.

Perfect, valleygirl!

The Home Depot Lite is a joke. "We don't carry that here. You have to go to our Fayetteville or Newnan store." We just need to make sure they build a full-sized Lowe's that's a viable Home Improvement Center.

We already have 2 Targets. I think we need a decent department store (Macys? Parisian? Anything!) I'm sick of having to drive to the northside for anything half-way nice.

Submitted by ptcjenn on Fri, 10/27/2006 - 9:15pm.

I would LOVE a Parisian here in town... I'll hope for that in that spot. As long as it isn't a Belks (they bought all the Parisians)

FYI Arbor Place in Douglasville is pretty nice and a lot shorter drive, you might want to check it out sometime. They don't have as much upscale as Lenox but it sure beats Shannon Mall. Plus, they have the all-important Build A Bear there Smiling

And no, that was not a vote for a Fayette County mall!

Submitted by swmbo on Sat, 10/28/2006 - 4:28pm.

If we had a Parisian, I guess I'd shop there but . . . frankly, I'm not much of a Belk/Parisian kinda person. I refuse to shop in places where they act like you're bothering them to ask for help and I have had bad experiences in both of those stores at various locations.

The drive to the northside is annoying but, I prefer Nieman's or at least Nordstrom's. The selection is better and the service is attentive without being hovery.

What a load of putrified attitude! Just be glad you have some rags to cover your greedy nakedness. Pride, bragging, and greed will only get worse with people like you. Do it if you must, but I don't need to hear such drivel.

Submitted by ptcjenn on Sat, 10/28/2006 - 7:35pm.

Many people who can afford to dress really nicely do so, and don't give it a second thought. Meaning they don't obsess about what they're wearing nearly as much as you apparently obsess about what they're wearing. Don't read this thread if reading about what people would prefer to Kmart bothers you. Also, I didn't see any bragging here, so again - ?????????????????

Submitted by dollaradayandfound on Sat, 10/28/2006 - 7:40pm.

I wasn't talking about what clothes you may wear, just the name dropping and bragging----which you say you don't do!!! Fraid you do.

Submitted by McDonoughDawg on Fri, 10/27/2006 - 1:59pm.

They have a pretty nice selection of close etc. It's not a Parisian, but it's pretty nice.

*sigh*, a Parisian's would be nice, but it is probably a far off dream!
As far as the rudeness, it can go both ways. I was on the receiving end of a rude customer tonight at my store. It was past closing, and the cashier had asked the woman to come to the front, and the woman kept refusing. I asked her to come, and stated that we would like to go home to our families. She went on a rant about how I was unprofessional, etc!!!! What a fruitcake she was. She had been going off on my cashier, and I told my cashier that she did not need to take abuse and harrassment from anyone! Of course if my cashier had been like that, I'd have written her up maybe fire her if it was warranted. So it's not the low end of retail (I'm at a dollar store) that is the problem, it's the staff and management. Please complain to the mangers and the corporate office. it is more effective than you realize!!!!
